[Bug 1728354] [NEW] ntfs: unsupported reparse point
Public bug reported: I recently updated my Windows-10 to the 1709 edition. Scanning the file system with Ubuntu, I get "unsupported reparse point" errors. [Bug 1728354] Re: ntfs: unsupported reparse point
Hello Jean-Pierre, thank you for time analyzing the ntfs issue. According to dpkg -l, my ntfs packages have the following versions: libfsntfs120170315-1build1 libntfs-3g872 1:2016.2.22AR.2-2 ntfs-3g 1:2016.2.22AR.2-2 When I am trying to compile the ntfs-3g-system-compression package, configure complains that libntfs-3g is not new enough: libntfs-3g >= 2017.3.23, so I am a bit stuck here. Likewise the plugins have no deb pacakge version and want package levels newer than the ones available in Ubuntu 17.10. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1728354 Title: ntfs: unsupported reparse point To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ntfs-3g/+bug/1728354/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1728354] Re: ntfs: unsupported reparse point
Hello Jean-Pierre, installing the plugin from http://jp-andre.pagesperso-orange.fr/advanced-ntfs-3g.html#download and installing it at the correct place did the trick! Thank you. You might consider this solution for general availability, since more and more people will have to face WIndows-10, if they want to face it at all. [Bug 1560797] Re: package systemd-sysv 225-1ubuntu9.1 failed to install/upgrade: libgcrypt20 was unconfigured during 15.10 to 16.04 upgrade
I compared an update of a 1510-amd64 only system - the one from above (ubuntu-mate-15.10-desktop-amd64.iso) with a the same system, added the libgcrypt20:i386 packages. 1.) There is hardly any de-configuring going in the "pure" amd64 system, only (plymouth and ifupdown). 2.) in the amd64 + libgcrypt20:i386 system: De-configuring plymouth (0.9.0-0ubuntu9) ... De-configuring ifupdown (0.7.54ubuntu1.3) .. . De-configuring libgcc1:i386 (1:5.2.1-22ubuntu2) ... De-configuring gcc-5-base:amd64 (5.2.1-22ubuntu2) ... De-configuring libc6:i386 (2.21-0ubuntu4.1) ... De-configuring libgpg-error0:amd64 (1.19-2) ... De-configuring libgcrypt20:i386 (1.6.3-2ubuntu1.1) ... Why is this deconfiguring happening? I downloaded the apt source for ubuntu-mate-1510-amd64, modified the two lines in apt_pkg/packagemanager.cc, rebuild the lot according to http://askubuntu.com/questions/81870/how-to-download-modify-build-and- install-a-debian-source-package, and installed it locally on my ubuntu- mate-1510-amd64 system. [Bug 990148] [NEW] cannot hibernate from Kubuntu "leave" menu
Public bug reported: When I try to get my PC into hibernation mode, the system just locks the screen and that's it. This is a new behaviour, I upgraded a day ago to Kubuntu 12.04LTS. in Kubuntu 11.10 the process "Kickoff application launcher" -> Leave -> Hibernate worked as expected. I can force the system to hibernate properly by entering "sudo/usr/sbin/ pm-hibernate" from a command line. The other functions "Kickoff application launcher" -> Leave, namely "sleep", "restart" and "shutdown" are working properly. Additional information: 1.) I did a fresh install, updated the kernel and rebooted. 2.) I manually upgraded lightdm and ubuntu-mate-core immediately => everything ok. 3.) sudo apt-get upgrade and everything is fine, no bug to be seen. 4.) [Bug 1550922] Re: dist-upgrade from Ubuntu Mate 14.04.4 LTS to 16.04 LTS (Beta1) fails
I have managed to bypass this problem by manipulation the Python code of the upgrade process. But it is far easier to bypass it properly by setting up a config file in /etc/update-manager/release- upgrades.d/*.cfg. According to http://askubuntu.com/questions/425355/error-authenticating- some-packages-while-upgrade one needs to create a file /etc/update- manager/release-upgrades.d/unauth.cfg with the contents: [Distro] AllowUnauthenticated=yes The upgrade runs smoothly through. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1550922 Title: dist-upgrade from Ubuntu Mate 14.04.4 LTS to 16.04 LTS (Beta1) fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1550922/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1550922] Re: dist-upgrade from Ubuntu Mate 14.04.4 LTS to 16.04 LTS (Beta1) fails
1.) I have reset my virtual machine to a state after 14.04 kernel update. 2.) I have created the file /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades.d/unauth.cfg as described above. 3.) I started do-release-upgrade and it does NOT fail any more with the message of unauthenticated packages. 4.) This can be considered a circumvention (for the time being). 5.) After the upgrade to 16.04 you can safely remove package module-init-tools, since the dependencies have been changed (in the other packages) to "module-init-tool | kmod". "|" is OR, which can be satisfied by kmod in 16.04.

[Bug 917922] Re: after hibernation, sometimes system fails to restore the old state (before hiberanation
A few comments: 1.) I checked a few more /var/log/syslog* and /var/log/kern.log* files. It is always process name "plasma-desktop" which gets hits. 2.) I never had this problem as long as I ran Ubuntu - but I decided to go away from Ubuntu because of the Unity desktop. I could not handle this new desktop design. 3.) Somestimes the system bombs out after loading 100% of the saved pages from the swap file. It immediately falls back in to the BIOS and the reboots normally. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/917922 Title: after hibernation, sometimes system fails to restore the old state (before hiberanation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/917922/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
