[Bug 71040] Re: Kernel 2.6.20 reboots instead of shutting down
I think I might have found the source of this problem! While testing several things at once I was taking the following steps: * I was trying to install my wireless with ndiswrapper and wpasupplicant (after installation I got no connection) * I tried to shutdown the computer with the hibernate option, this halted my computer (as Carlos Fenollosa mentioned as well). * I than removed network-manager !! * When I tried the hibernate again, the computer was locked. * I unlocked the computer and tried the shutdown option, guess what, the computer halted! Could anyone please remove network-manager (network-manager-gnome and ubuntu-dekstop (meta-package, safe to remove) will also be removed) and see if this works for you too? As to this point, I have not been able to reproduce the problem. [Bug 94189] Re: Digital Output jack selected by default on a Soundblaster live
I have a Creative Audigy Value and for me there was no sound after installation of Feisty. Disabling the "Digital Output Jack" on the "Switches" tab in volume control solved the problem. My guess is that the majority of the people use the analog output, so setting this by default would avoid a lot of questions... uname -a: Linux wlinux 2.6.20-12-generic #2 SMP Wed Mar 21 20:55:46 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux lspci -vv: 02:0c.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Audigy (rev 03) Subsystem: Creative Labs SB0090 Audigy Player/OEM Control: I/O+ Mem- BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR+ FastB2B- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- SERR- -- Digital Output jack selected by default on a Soundblaster live https://launchpad.net/bugs/94189 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
