[Bug 260414] Re: virtualbox-ose-guest-modules-generic not installable

2008-08-28 Thread Volans
If I have understand correctly I think there is the same bug on Hardy.
It seems that the metapackage virtualbox-ose-modules-generic is unable to
choose the correct version of the package to install due to incorrect kernel
version detection.
For example it try to install the virtualbox-ose-modules-2.6.24-20-generic
while the latest Hardy kernel is the 2.6.24-19, causing apt-get to fail the
installation.

[Bug 370300] Re: "Ubuntu-it" some page open in Spanish only

2009-05-01 Thread Volans
The Ubuntu-it menu extension provides a wide collection of useful
Ubuntu-related links that covers all the Italian Ubuntu comminity and a variety
of other Ubuntu communities.
So when you open one of the "International" sub-menus and you click on an
"(Es)" item, you go to a Spanish site.
It is not a bug, so I mark it as "invalid". If I haven't understand correctly
what you mean, please reply here with a more detailed description.

I have an external monitor attached to my laptop and in the second monitor

[Bug 263122] Re: Packages need rebuild for libopenthreads6 -> libopenthreads7 and libopenscenegraph6 -> libopenscenegraph7 transitions.

2008-08-31 Thread Volans
For osgcal I have search in the build log and found this error:
"(EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of /usr/lib/dri/swrast_dri.so failed
(/usr/lib/dri/swrast_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory)"
I have also found that this file is provided by the libgl1-mesa-dri package.

Trying both depends and rdepends on apt-cache I have found (among with the help
of ~d.filoni) the possible cause of the problem:
# apt-cache depends libgl1-mesa-glx
libgl1-mesa-glx
  <...>
  Conflicts: libgl1-mesa-dri
  Replaces:
libgl1-mesa-glx
libgl1-mesa-swx11
  Replaces: libgl1-mesa-dri

So I have tried adding the libgl1-mesa-dri package as build-dep in
debian/control and the package was successfully built on my PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~volans/+archive/+build/704939

I attach here the debdiff

You are right, I have been mislead by the libopenscenegraph6 NBS
(http://people.ubuntu.com/~ubuntu-archive/NBS/libopenthreads6) that involve
both osgcal and libopenscenegraph6 packages and forgetting that
libopenscenegraph6 will be superseded by libopenscenegraph7. Sorry, I close the
openscenegraph task as invalid.
For osgcal and the FTBFS I have linked the successful build on my PPA in my
previous reply.

[Bug 150252] tasksel remove all Ubuntu-desktop dependencies without confirmation dialog

2007-10-07 Thread Volans
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: tasksel

I was trying to install a LAMP server on my Ubuntu Gutsy 64bit using tasksel.
I have launched the command tasksel from a root shell and the tasksel menu
appears. Two lines where already checked, Ubuntu desktop and Print server. I
have checked LAMP server and then press OK.
541 packages has been removed without prompting any confirmation dialog after
this operation. I think that it have removed all the ubuntu-desktop and print
server dependencies and also other graphical packages, maybe restoring a
default server installation?

The only error that tasksel have printed during the operation was:
"Use o uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at /usr/bin/tasksel
line 349"

In order to restore the system I have to set up the network from scratch
manually with the shell and doing an "apt-get install ubuntu-desktop".
This operation restored only 432 packages. In order to restore the other
109 packages I have to make a diff from the list of packages removed and
after reinstalled from dpkg.log.

I hope that at least a confirmation dialog will be implemented in order
to avoid these problems!

[Bug 112846] [needs-packaging] Ubuntu-it Menu (Firefox extension)

2007-05-06 Thread Volans
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu-it Menu is a Firefox extension for quicker browsing of the Italian
community site and support channels.
Once installed, this extension inserts three identical menus in Firefox with
group of links arranged by support channels. One menu is located in the menu
bar, another in the Tools menu and the third in the right-click context menu.
>From the extension Preferences you can enable or disable any of these three
>menus and also choose which sub-menus and specific groups of links have to be
>shown.
If the name of your personal page in the italian Ubuntu Wiki and/or the
international Ubuntu Wiki is set in the Preferences, the extension will
automatically show the direct links to your personal pages.
The IRC channel links require an external IRC client associated with the IRC
format links (of the form "irc://irc.server.net:port/channel?key"), in order to
run it and automatically join the selected channel. Under Ubuntu you need to
install (if not already installed) only "xchat" and "xchat-remote" packages.

Actually the extension is in the Sandbox of the Mozilla Addons site:
https://addons.mozilla.org/it/firefox/addon/4684 (require registration and
activation of the Sandbox in the preferences)
Licence: GPL
Homepage (it-IT): http://wiki.ubuntu-it.org/Ubuntu-itMenuEstensioneFirefox

[Bug 293382] Re: Ubuntu-it menu can't be configured to English

2010-01-23 Thread Volans
Sorry for the delay of this reply.
What do you exactly mean that "Ubuntu-it menu can't be configured to English"?
Ubuntu-it Menu is an italian-specific firefox extension that is shipped with 2
locales: italian (it-IT) and english (en-US).

Firefox will automatically choose the correct locale.
Because you have:
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
you should see the english version.

Obviously some links are in italian also in the english version, such as
the Forum Board's names, etc... because they are untranslatable.

When I have restarted the computer and thus Empathy, the problem
appeared for the first time.

[Bug 830872] Re: All contacts relative to Google Accounts have disappeared from Empathy

2011-08-22 Thread Volans
Because I think it is unlikely that these updates have caused the
problem, does anyone know if by chance something has changed in the way
Google and GTalk allow you to display the account's contacts?

[Bug 830872] Re: All contacts relative to Google Accounts have disappeared from Empathy

2011-08-23 Thread Volans
The problem disappeared automatically yesterday without any system
upgrade.

Probably something was changes by Google on how they allow to download
the contact list and now they have fixed it.

Therefore I'm setting the status to invalid.

[Bug 640066] Re: Dell mini 10 doesn't wake up from suspend (powered standby)

2010-10-20 Thread Volans
I have the same issue on a Dell Mini (1018) with Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick) just
installed.
Can we provide some sort of hardware/software configuration or log to help to
diagnose this problem?

I too can confirm this workaround, but this way the processor will be
always at 100%. Hoping in a better solution...

2010-10-26 Thread Volans
I have also tried to set ACPI_SLEEP_MODE=standby in /etc/default/acpi-
support but I don't have noticed any behaviour change.

The description of the parameter is:
# Change the following to "standby" to use ACPI S1 sleep, rather than S3.
# This will save less power, but may work on more machines

[Bug 566818] Re: [Lucid] cryptsetup passphrase prompt during boot: every character typed repeats the prompt

2010-08-21 Thread Volans
Any news on this bug?
I'm experiencing it as well and in the meantime the 10.04.1 was released.

As mentioned by ilf the passphrase length is now visibile. There is a
way to restore the "silent" mode?

[Bug 1814942] [NEW] cryptopensc hook doesn't copy required library

2019-02-06 Thread Avis Volans
Public bug reported:

The hook cryptopensc in /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks tries to copy
libpcsclite.so.1 into the initrd. However, it searches in /lib/x86_64
-linux-gnu while the file is in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu. As a result,
opensc-tool and pkcs15-crypt do not work.

[Bug 1814945] [NEW] decrypt_opensc redirects stderr to stdout

2019-02-06 Thread Avis Volans
Public bug reported:

decrypt_opensc redirects stderr to stdout when calling /usr/bin/opensc-
tool. This will break scripts that rely on decrypt_opensc to print
nothing but the decrypted key to stdout.

if /usr/bin/opensc-tool -n 2>&1; then
