Same here on Nvidia FX 5200, driver nvidia-173. MATE/Metacity has no problem, but turning Compiz on leads to black screen in either Unity, MATE or GNOME fallback. [Bug 930848] Re: USB BT dongle freezes machine
Same issue in 12.04 - every time I try to pair, a kernel panic occurs. I haven't sent a single byte successfully. The system freezes at the moment of pairing.
