[Bug 300980] [NEW] xserver-xorg-input-wacom does not recognize touchscreen coordinates
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-wacom Hi, I've a toshiba portege m700 which is a tablet-pc with touchscreen capability. The stylus and eraser work like a charm after adding some lines to xorg.conf as described in this tutorial: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WacomTroubleshooting There is also a useful page about setting up everything on this laptop too at: https://wiki.kubuntu.org/LaptopTestingTeam/ToshibaPortegeM700 The problem is the touchscreen. I added these lines to my xorg.conf Section "InputDevice" Driver"wacom" Identifier"touch" Option"Device""/dev/ttyS0" # SERIAL ONLY Option"Type" "touch" Option"ForceDevice" "ISDV4"# Serial Tablet PC ONLY EndSection And touchscreen worked but it does not recognize coordinates. I'll try to explain how does it behaves: It seems that the the whole screen is mapped in a little rectangle on top left corner of the screen. if i put finger there i can use it but if i exit out of this little rectangle the cursor goes out of the screen. So it works, i mean, it receives commands, but they are mapped wrong. To face this in hardy i used the patch attached and it was recognized using the stylus/cursor xorg.conf lines (so no need for touchscreen lines). I hope this patch can be added upstream to solve this issue. ** Affects: wacom-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- xserver-xorg-input-wacom does not recognize touchscreen coordinates https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/300980 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 292923] Re: CVE-2008-4796: missing input sanitising
Attached is a new debdiff, it should be ok this time As you can see the patch gets applied now: make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/goshawk/Documents/Projects/MOTU/libphp-snoopy/libphp-snoopy-1.2.3' if [ "debian/stamp-patched" = "reverse-patches" ]; then rm -f debian/stamp-patched; fi patches: debian/patches/CVE-2008-4796.patch Trying patch debian/patches/CVE-2008-4796.patch at level 1 ... success. Currently i've not performed any test cuz it's a patch that comes directly from upstream, and this patch is also included in the version 1.2.4 which differs from 1.2.3 for this patch only. And as said in comment 8, RainCT, the MOTU which is mentoring me said that: "I guess you can skip that, considering that the fix comes from upstream, that the new version has been in Jaunty for a while and that it's just an one-liner." [Bug 79075] Re: Quanta documentation symlinks pointig to none existing place
I can confirm that installing php-doc package, the php documentation starts to work. php-doc appears to be in suggest, it should be in recommends to have high visibility. docbook-defguide is already on recommends and it's ok. The package has also a "gubed" package which is unavailable, i tried to get infos about this pacakge, but debian does not know it: http://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=gubed&searchon=names&suite=all§ion=all So it should be removed. But the worst problem is that, even if you install the w3-recs package, it seems not to be organized as the old wdg-html-reference. So quanta can't work with it. Workaround: You can still install the package (w3-recs) and look the documentation in a separate browser pointing at /usr/share/doc/w3-recs/html/index.html . To solve this last problem i see two ways: Contact upstream and say to use the files provided at w3-recs (it can also be done by a patch to the debian version only done by the maintainer) or try to fix the license issue with wdg-html-reference . If someone tells me which way to follow i can start working on this bug. [Bug 841009] [NEW] stuck on grub menu after power cut *very dangerous for servers*
Public bug reported: As reported on stackoverflow at this page http://serverfault.com/questions/269387/how-to-force-grub-to-boot-no- human-input-regardless-previous-booting-failure if a power cut affects an ubuntu server it gets stuck on grub menu at next reboot waiting for a user to press "enter" to make the server boot. This is a very odd behavior expecially if there are not integrity problems and the system can boot without user intervention. I've tested this bug on ubuntu oneiric beta 1 but it seems that all the versions with grub2 are affected. To reproduce the bug just install a new ubuntu server, cause a power cut, make it boot. Surfing online i found two solutions to this problem. First solution involves to modify /etc/grub.d/00_header at line 233 such that: set timeout=-1 becomes: set timeout=0 and then run update-grub. Second solution is to set GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT=-1 as suggested on ubuntu forums at this page http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1403517 but i've not tried this solution yet. ** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/841009 Title: stuck on grub menu after power cut *very dangerous for servers* To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/841009/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
