[Bug 433322] [NEW] karmic suspend fails - Panasonic Toughbook

2009-09-19 Thread Tony Kernan
Public bug reported:

I use a Panasonic Toughboook CF-29 laptop. I close the lid when it is
not in use. The suspend worked in Jaunty. Now my hard drive light
flickers but my display doesn't come on. I ran a script at
http://people.canonical.com/~apw/suspend-resume/test-suspend and I
attached a log.

[Bug 432400] Re: Karmic hangs on boot

2009-09-21 Thread Tony Kernan
I somewhat fixed it. It was during the great Karmic update problem last
week. I still can't boot to 2.6.31-10 w/o it hanging, it gives me a
black screen. I tried 'nosplash' and I see a lot of udev errors.

I boot to 2.6.31-9 with no problem.

I have a similar problem. I upgraded 2 days ago, after that I can't

same problem. My log files are not updated with the failed boots. The
last msg I see is 'clocksource tsc unstable'. I am able to press ctrl-

login would appear, but it didn't.

How can I recover from this without formatting or reinstalling?

[Bug 503203] Re: Karmic reboot trace

2010-01-16 Thread Tony Kernan
I created a new kernel, 2.6.32, with Kernelcheck and booted with it. I
still have a problem of not rebooting, my traces are gone. I see a msg
about my system restarting and it just sits there.

Any ideas?

[Bug 503203] Re: Karmic reboot trace

2010-01-10 Thread Tony Kernan
I've booted with lapic, disableapic, and default boot. I get the trace
msg every time. I've looked at the bugzilla post in #20, this sounds
like a 2.6.31 problem. Is there a work around for this?

[Bug 503203] Re: Karmic reboot trace

2010-01-10 Thread Tony Kernan
I upgraded to 2.6.31-18 kernel, the trace msg is gone. My system still
does not reboot. I see a msg about my system restarting but it never
does. I waited a couple minutes after this msg but my system did not
reboot. I booted with default & lapic with no difference.

[Bug 1174062] [NEW] Ralink 3290 & UEFI

2013-04-28 Thread Tony Kernan
Public bug reported:

I have an HP 2000 laptop. I have to set my bios to legacy mode for
Ubuntu 13.04 to recognize my 3290 wireless card. If legacy mode is
disabled, UEFI mode, I get an error about irq 0 mismatch and wireless
device is not ready. This a new laptop, less then 1 month old, and a
clean install of Ubuntu 13,04.

Why is the RALink 3290 wireless firmware/card not recognized in UEFI ?

[Bug 730859] [NEW] Sysmonitor not visible

2011-03-07 Thread Tony Kernan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: screenlets

I'm trying to use the sysmonitor screenlet. When I start it, it's not
visible. I've tried changing different options, all to no avail. Is
there something I'm missing?

[Bug 672015] [NEW] OS not found on USB

2010-11-06 Thread Tony Kernan
Public bug reported:

I have a Dell Inspiron 15, using Maverick. I have kubuntu installed. When I
use usb-creator-kde I get an error 'Failed to install bootloader'. I try
unetbootin and when I boot from the usb drive no operating system is found.
Both used to work in Lucid. I found that formatting the usb partition with
fat32 works, anything
else does not. With fat32 I can successfully use usb-creator. I
installed a clean version of Ubuntu on a separate drive, neither usb-
creator or unetbootin worked.

usb-creator-kde Version: 0.2.25
unetbootin Version: 494-1~maverick1

kernel 2.6.35-22-generic
