When it fails, system is still useable, only wireless connections don't work at all. System log gets flooded with messages: ... [Bug 259519] [NEW] Samsung R700 laptop hangs on boot with 2.6.26 kernels
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-generic Affected is 2.6.26-5-generic kernel in ubuntu intrepid ibex, It hangs after "Loading hardware drivers". Also, laptop built-in speaker keeps beeping. I can workaround this problem by adding "noacpi" boot option.
