[Bug 241335] [NEW] Remove backup files (ending with "~") from source

2008-06-19 Thread TomParker
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dash

The current .diff.gz for Dash contains a number of files ending in ~
i.e. backups of the originals, and they really should be deleted before
the .diff.gz gets built.

Specifically:
dash-0.5.4/src/options.h~
dash-0.5.4/src/options.c~
dash-0.5.4/src/main.c~
dash-0.5.4/src/dash.1~
dash-0.5.4/debian/diff/0045-dash-l-option.diff~
dash-0.5.4/debian/changelog~

(this is for 0.5.4-8ubuntu1)

[Bug 149190] New upstream available (0.7.7) with xmlrpc support

2007-10-04 Thread TomParker
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rtorrent

Rtorrent 0.7.7 is available upstream, and this and all versions >=0.7.5
have xmlrpc support (see
http://libtorrent.rakshasa.no/wiki/RTorrentXMLRPCGuide), which would be
really nice to add to the ubuntu package.

2007-09-14 Thread TomParker
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: wget

Current released versions of wget ignore HTTP Content-Disposition
headers, which would give nicer filenames for output. See also

[Bug 76230] no debug symbols for gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg

2006-12-17 Thread TomParker
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg

There are debug symbols packages available for various of the other
gstreamer packages, but not for gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg. Given that the
vast range of media files out there tend to result in a large quantity
of bugs being found in any system trying to handle many of the formats,
being able to point users towards a -dbg package to install to try and
help get a better stacktrace in order to debug the problem is a very
useful thing.

Is there a version of gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg-dbgsym for edgy? Only this
came up in regards to a bug
(http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386909) that's popping up on
an edgy system, and I wanted to be able to tell the user

[Bug 422442] Re: Folder sharing informative text unclear

2010-02-03 Thread TomParker
One option is to allow the user to do this automagically. If they've got
system-config-samba installed, then the attached script (run as root)
will do that. With some PolicyKit magic to do authentication and a
suitably nasty "Are you really sure you want to do this? Do you trust
all the users on this machine?" message, it might well work...

[Bug 512847] [NEW] NSS_VersionCheck fails to work as intended

2010-01-26 Thread TomParker
Public bug reported:

Release: 8.04
Version: 3.12.3.1-0ubuntu0.8.04.2

NSS_VersionCheck doesn't seem to work properly. Calling it with "3.12.3"
should return true, but doesn't. I've attached a test program
demonstrating this. This was found in relation to
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=33163 which means
it'll start causing problems with newer versions of Chrome sooner or
later

[Bug 512847] Re: NSS_VersionCheck fails to work as intended

2010-01-27 Thread TomParker
libnspr4-0d was at version 4.7.1+1.9-0ubuntu0.8.04.5. Upgrading this to
4.7.5-0ubuntu0.8.04.1 fixed the issue. One thing to do here might be to
run PR_VersionCheck as well when NSS_VersionCheck fails, and print out
some sort of "check your nspr version is up to date" if PR_VersionCheck
fails.

and not working is 1.2.42-1ubuntu2.1 (lucid-updates).

[Bug 673156] Re: New libpng crashes vlc

2010-11-10 Thread TomParker
I've just re-upgraded libpng back to the "broken" version and tested
against the previously breaking file, and now all appears fine... yeah,
looks like file corruption. I also saw something similar at one point
while trying to install a new xulrunner-1.9.2 which appears to have
fixed itself as well, so I guess something's sorted itself out. Thanks
for the help, please close the bug.
