[Bug 567842] Re: Events written in google calendar do not sync with Evolution calendar

2010-04-21 Thread Tom Swartz
Could you please add information about your settings regarding the calendar
setup?
It is possible you simply do not have the correct settings configured.

i.e. How you have the account tied to your Gmail account?

2010-04-21 Thread Tom Swartz
Please follow the instructions from Google regarding CalDAV support. The
instructions specify for iPhones, but can be applied to Evolution.
http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=151674

Other people have had success using the add on GCalDaemon. Back up your
calendars and follow the instructions here:

[Bug 567842] Re: Events written in google calendar do not sync with Evolution calendar

2010-04-21 Thread Tom Swartz
My apologies, I shouldn't been more specific about the process.

Install GCalDaemon, from this link here:
http://gcaldaemon.sourceforge.net/index.html

Once it is installed, follow the guide here:
http://gcaldaemon.sourceforge.net/usage16.html

You install the program from the command line, then launch evolution.
Create a new calendar and input the information as shown on the guide.
Once the information is put into the config file, you should be able to
use 2 way sync of your Google Calendar.

[Bug 571827] Re: /proc/acpi/fan dir empty on acer aspire 5536G - no fan control

2010-04-29 Thread Tom Swartz
Is it verified that the specific model you have is properly equipped to control

I know for a fact that not all fans (primarily prevalent in laptops, but some
desktops too) are not designed to have user controlled settings.

[Bug 571827] Re: /proc/acpi/fan dir empty on acer aspire 5536G - no fan control

2010-04-30 Thread Tom Swartz
My suspicions were confirmed, there is no default user control of the
system fans. However, there are third party programs that allow users to
control the fan speed.

Follow the link below for information:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AspireOne/110L?action=show&redirect=AspireOne110L#Fan%20Control

Please be sure that you read the information COMPLETELY and FULLY, this
setup involves configuring files related to BIOS and various other
applications on the system hardware level. If you do not follow the
instructions carefully and understand what is going on, you could
possibly brick your system.

[Bug 573231] Re: U1 does not sync folders when marked in Nautilus

2010-05-01 Thread Tom Swartz
Thank you for your bug report.

Ubuntu One is, in fact, still currently listed as Beta software, and is
continually undergoing development. As such, there will be periodic
quirks with the system.

Although there is currently not as much functionality as Dropbox or
other cloud storage services, the future may prove to add such
functions. For example, there is development included with an iPhone app
that will sync your contacts to your Ubuntu One account.

Please be patient as development progresses.

[Bug 934231] [NEW] [Lenovo X130e] ubiquity crashes on user account creation

2012-02-17 Thread Tom Swartz
Public bug reported:

Using daily build from 16 Feb. 2012.

Ubiquity install works great, copying files proceeds until the User Account
Information page.
Once user account info "Who Are You?" (username, computer name, password, etc)
are entered, and 'Continue' is selected, the install process freezes and will
not continue.

This is unfortunate, as we have a pilot run of the new Educational

As a matter of fact, it seems that way.

I never thought that it would be related to Migration-Assistant.

[Bug 314376] Re: asus touchpad toggling doesn't work (synclient)

2010-10-15 Thread Tom Swartz
fdanis: I have an Asus eee-pc 1005HAB, and I have experienced the same
problems.

I have found that editing /etc/default/grub with SU permissions and
adding the line

"acpi_osi=Linux" to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT so that it will look like
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_osi=Linux"

save and sudo update-grub
and all of the function keys, including the hardware touchpad toggle button
(above the esc key) work.
