[Bug 57789] Re: Crossfading option causes skipping

2007-12-31 Thread Tom Owen
Same problem here.. Debian Sid / Amarok 1.4.7
Except I am NOT using the crossfading option. Instead I have a complicated
sqlite query in a smart playlist which in turn polulates a dynamic playlist.
It's quite a lot of CPU thrashing to repopulate the list.
Perhaps it is the excessive CPU usage when switching tracks that is causing it
to skip, rather than the crossfade or smart playlist specifically?

[Bug 670807] Re: Black screen blinking white cursor after installing Ubuntu 10.10

2011-01-18 Thread Tom Owen
Hey there, I had a similar problem.

I installed Ubuntu 10.10 netbook edition in a partition on a Acer
Aspire. I did this using a USB. After install I reset the BIOS boot
queue to its original settings. Every time I boot the netbook with any
mass storage device plugged in to USB (flashdrive, ipod, 'phone) I get
the black screen with cursor (it boots ok with a mouse). If I pull out
USB devices, it begins to boot as normal.
