[Bug 213444] Re: Hardy Heron nfs (client) reports internal error when I attempt to mount with NFS

2008-06-03 Thread Tom D
Had to compile myself (following Bill's instructions) for my AMD64 system.
Works perfectly :-)
Have attached .deb for any 64bit users out there.

Very many thanks Bill, you have avoided me having to reinstall Gutsy.

[Bug 1876632] [NEW] Corrupted fonts in display output when using multiple users

2020-05-03 Thread Tom D.
Public bug reported:

I recently installed ubuntu 20.04 on my computer, and I am running into
an issue when I do the following:

* Login with a user on desktop
* Select switch user, and login as second user
* Switch user again, and return to original user

At this point, text and icons in the menubar / sidebar are corrupted.
Text and icons in normal windows appear correctly. I have attached a
screenshot of what this looks like.

[Bug 1074034] [NEW] Intel 6205 Stops Showing Connection After Multiple Suspends

2012-11-01 Thread Tom D.
Public bug reported:

Version: Ubuntu 12.10

I am using the Intel 6205 Wifi Card, which works fine, but has been
exhibiting some weird behavior. It successfully connects, and works
perfectly, but after suspending the computer a few times, it stops
showing what wifi network connection it is connected to, and showing any
connection statistics. The network manager applet does not show the
connection strength (it shows 0 bars), and does not list which wireless
network it is connected to. It does continue to connect properly though.

This problem does not appear to be with network manager, as iwconfig
also exhibits the same issues. When this occurs, it does not show any
connection statistics, and says: "Access Point: Not Associated", but the
wireless connection continues to work.

[Bug 755875] [NEW] Speedcrunch settings do not display properly when updated

2011-04-09 Thread Tom D
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: speedcrunch

Using Ubuntu Natty (development branch) 11.04
Speedcrunch Version: 0.10.1-2

While running speed crunch, when I go up to Settings menu and change any
given setting, while the change does take effect, it is not reflected
when I open the Setting menu again. For instance, if go to
Settings>Angle Unit and select 'Degree', even though SpeedCrunch will
start working in degrees, if I go back to Setting>Angle Unit, 'Radian'
will still be selected. If I close SpeedCrunch and reopen it, the
changes will be reflected.

[Bug 755877] [NEW] Changing setting in SpeedCrunch causes system to be unresponsive

2011-04-09 Thread Tom D
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: speedcrunch

This bug does not seem to happen after one particular setting change.
But if multiple settings are changed via the Setting menu (of if one
setting is toggled back and forth) who system may become unresponsive.
By this I mean the only thing that I am able to do is move the mouse
around. No windows respond to being clicked, and keyboard shortcuts do
not do anything. As far as I can tell, SpeedCrunch does not crash the
system under normal use otherwise.

[Bug 755883] [NEW] Minimizing SpeedCrunch after selecting "Minimize to System Tray" causes SpeedCrunch to become unreachable

2011-04-09 Thread Tom D
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: speedcrunch

Most likely due to Unity, if the "Minimize to System Tray" option is
selected in the Settings>Behavior menu and SpeedCrunch is minimized, it
becomes impossible to bring SpeechCrunch back up. It is no longer in
the Launcher and it does not appear in the System Tray.

[Bug 1931493] Re: usb-creator fails to pick .iso extension files, but picks them if renamed to .img extension

2024-11-16 Thread Tom D.
This is still an issue on Ubuntu 24.04.1.

This seems like an easy fix, and has been around for 4 years now. Pretty
bad user experience.
