[Bug 1291362] Re: Apps locked to launcher only launch once per session on dual monitor system.
Same here. Fresh install of 14.04 64-bit, dual monitor setup. When I set the launcher to only display on one monitor, I can only click each icon in the launcher once. Trying to interact with those icons a second time receives no response. If I then set launcher to display on both monitors, I immediately regain access to all icons in the launcher on both monitors. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1291362 Title: Apps locked to launcher only launch once per session on dual monitor system. [Bug 732174] Re: Intel Wireless Adapter "iwl3945" not working after sleep
Christopher, I am not in a position to be able to further test this bug. I initially reported the problem over a year ago. It never received any official response and, based on feedback as recently as February of this year in the bug comments, the issue is not fixed. It should not come as a surprise that I gave up a long time ago and no longer use Ubuntu on that laptop. I mean no disrespect. I know that the devs volunteer a lot of time working on Ubuntu. But a year is an absurd amount of time to wait for a fix to a show-stopping bug like this on a laptop, particularly considering the myriad of other operating systems available. And based on the comments in this bug, it seems this problem is endemic in other Linux variants as well, going back as far as 2008. Some other brave soul will have to step-in and confirm whether this remains an issue. Marc, as of Feb. 15th 2012, you were still experiencing the problem. Can you confirm that the problem still exists? [Bug 1352530] [NEW] Popping/Crackling sound when playing audio in Ubuntu 14.04
Public bug reported: When listening to audio (pandora internet radio, youtube, etc.), I get a repeated popping/crackling sound. When I look at the sound settings while this is happening, I see "Headphone Output" rapidly appearing and then disappearing in the "Play Sound Through" section. [Bug 732174] Re: Intel Wireless Adapter "iwl3945" not working after sleep
Christopher, Marking this bug as invalid is wrong. This bug report has multiple people adding comments confirming that the problem exists. You also have someone as recently as 7 hours ago confirming that the problem exists in the latest release. There's absolutely no reason to close this bug and make others jump through more hoops for the exact same problem. This is especially true considering how long this bug has been open with no actual developer attention yet. This bug was reported over 1 year and 3 months ago. And even though it's very old, not one developer attempted to fix it. Are you implying that a newer bug report of the exact same issue will somehow get more attention than this one? Closing this bug and forcing others with the exact same problem to open a new one makes it seem like you're just going to keep up the same routine; ignore the bug for long enough until most people give up, then close it out as invalid. This bug is not invalid. It is very valid, and confirmed as still existing in the latest release. If you need someone to post some details about the bug against the current release, it looks as if Bogdan is the best person for that. Christopher Penalver, I'm very willing to provide the minimum requirements to debug the problem. In fact, I already provided them in the original bug notes. However, a year and 3 months later, I don't have access to the hardware anymore. Regardless, there are multiple additional people commenting in this bug report confirming the same problem. If your unwillingness to investigate this bug is the best way you know how to help these people, then knock yourself out and close the report. Keep up the good work, Christopher!
