[Bug 283086] Re: no sound with HDA Intel Model ALC861

2008-11-18 Thread Thomas C.
for me the mixer problem is not solved :-(
But I have now sound, when i use the full mixer from kde and regulate PCM Mixer
and switch the mute control.

But when I click on the kde system tray icon for the speaker, I not get
no control for the volume.

I cant also not select in kmix a other control.. im not sure, but I
think it is a also specific problem, which reports a wrong master mixer?

[Bug 322249] Re: [intrepid] Dolpin Crash in KDirModelPrivate::nodeForUrl

2009-01-28 Thread Thomas C.
It is not possible to include the patch in KDE 4.1?

I reported for now some BUGS where dolphin crashed, and nobody can FIX
this bugs for the Intrepid Ibex release?

No updated KDE 4.1 packages and no Backport from KDE 4.2 results in a
really pure unstable system!

Whats up guys? You want to leave it like it is? It this release not a
called STABLE release?

[Bug 283132] Re: [e1000e] multiple Detected Tx Unit Hang/transmit timed out

2009-02-25 Thread Thomas C.
hi.. a last report from me to this problem:

my "old" notebook is now dead - but i use now a other hardware (same
modell). It is the same modell that u use!

Maxdata PRO 8100 IWS

my "new" notebook got an update for the nic from maxdata, while the
previous user had also connectivity problems under windows with newest
drivers (~ a year back).

When I boot the notebook I can see after BIOS POSt screen a Intel Bios
Message which I not had on my "old" notebook.

result of the new notebook (with new rom/whatever) is, that I never had
this transmit errors!

I think, u should try to get u update (u have to send the notebook
there). i now maxdata is dead - but there is a company who made support
for the devices.

I add my dmidecode output from my notebook as attachment. ignore the

Manufacturer: BUYMPC
Product Name: T3200

it is left, when u dont use the dmi patch from maxdata after bios
update.

[Bug 288592] Re: [2.6.27-7-generic] no cpufreq available

2008-10-28 Thread Thomas C.
ok, sorry! I found the solution in my old report from kernel.org

http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7578#c33

the BIOS becomes buggy again.. after load defaults, cpufreq is loading.

Sorry again for the wrong alarm :-)

Thomas

[Bug 283612] Re: ohci1394 driver loop at boot time (Iso Xmit # Context died)

2008-10-24 Thread Thomas C.
ok, a final story about what i have done now.

While the problem was always present with the pci=noacpi option i
searched now for a other solutions..

By trying to boot with grub console and without the splash screen i saw,
that he comes to the initrd.img ... so i modified the options for the
inird.img:

in /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf i changed MODULES=most to MODULES=dep
and also i added the follow lines to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist

blacklist ieee1394
blacklist ohci1394

after that i removed the pci=noacpi option from grubs menu.lst and
executed

rmmod ohci1394
rmmod sbp2
rmmod ieee1394
update-initramfs -u

Now the system boots up correctly :-)

I think the problem is not bound on my usb-bluetooth-stick and can sure also
handled by
package maintainers. Or has somebody test it on the own hardware with success?

Thanks,

[Bug 327082] Re: Totem crashes on loading files

2009-03-22 Thread Thomas C.
ok.. i tried to create a backtrace, but it is not working, while totem
exit without a real crash.

so I get only this output:

Program exited with code 01.
(gdb) backtrace full
No stack.
(gdb) info registers
The program has no registers now.
(gdb) hread apply all backtrace
Undefined command: "hread". Try "help".
(gdb) thread apply all backtrace
No registers.

I also started with the --sync option, but the result are the same.

I search the net and found a forum topic on which somebod has the same
problem. He deactivated compiz, so I tried the same, and TADA - totem
doesn't crash.

But what is the Bug? How we can debug it? And more imported, how we can
fix it?

[Bug 346768] [NEW] network-manager-pptp loses MPPE settings

2009-03-22 Thread Thomas C.
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager-pptp

I tryd today to setup a VPN Connection to my Work.
But when I try to connect, I get only a message, that it fail.
So I figured out, that NM not save (or display) my options what I set.

I tested with the original version
0.7~~svn20081015t024626-0ubuntu1.8.10.1 0 and with the current from NM
ppa, both has this bug.

How u can reproduce it:

1. create a new pptp connection
  a. enter a server
  b. go in the detail dialog and select "use MPPE" and select 128 bit.
  c. leave the dialog with OK and save the connection
2. open the connection dialog again and check MPPE settings.. It is set again
to all.

I don't now, if it is relevant, to my connection problem (a debug option
is missed!), but I think it is a bug.

[Bug 115526] Re: Gnome-RDP couldn't handle saved password for VNC connections

2009-03-23 Thread Thomas C.
bug is also present in gnome-rdp 0.2.2-0ubuntu5.

Its not limited to VNC while I got the same bug in RDP.

Workaround is, that you save your passwords with Quotes.

"my-secret-password" or better 'my-secret-password'

I am not sure, but when you have also problems with this, try to escape.

eg: 'my/'secret/'passwort'
