[Bug 118605] Re: [fglrx] freezes upon Logout or Switch user [patch]

2008-07-29 Thread Terrax
I got the exact same problem, as original stated in the bugreport.

I think there is two bugs in one, and we can't close the bug mentioned in the
original bugreport. Because it still exists.
With fully updated Hardy and catalyst 8.7, my computer hardlock and capslock
blinks in different speed. This only happens when using kdm, not gdm!

I have tried the mentioned scripts, but nothing helps.

[Bug 325316] [NEW] Kontact crash if no internetconnection

2009-02-04 Thread Terrax
Public bug reported:

Hello

When using kde 4.2 final under intrepid, my kontact crash on its
startup. It occurs when I have no internetconnection established, for an
example if my wireless isn't yet connected or if just I don't have any
connection. If I loose an internet connection, kontact will also
eventually crash.

I don't know if it has something to do with my two email accounts, which
is IMAP and POP3 accounts.

If I can supply any information helping with the debugging, just tell
me. I have attached the debugging information I got when kontact

[Bug 311716] Re: The slider brightness Applet has value inverted after the last update (2.6.27-11)

2009-01-07 Thread Terrax
Hello Andy.

It doesn't fix my.

Before the update:
- My brightness in gnome was inverted
- In kde 4 it was actually right???

After the update;
- The brightness seems correct in gnome, thought now I can't use my FN + F5
(up) or FN + F6 (down) keys?

So it fixes some of the problem, but can't use my brightness keys. It
worked all very good before the upgrade Mauricio is talking about. Hmm
in my case, could it just be the gnome power manager?

So Ill say the kernel 2.6.27-11-generic contains a regression, and of

Shouldn't the brightness levels start from 0 from left to 15 to the right? Well
that could be a cause for the inverted brightness in the brightness applet and
the normal brigtness adjustment with the FN keys?

[Bug 311716] Re: The slider brightness Applet has value inverted after the last update (2.6.27-11)

2009-02-17 Thread Terrax
Actually 5 makes my screen go darker and 15 lighter in intrepid.. I
can't test it on my Jaunty right now, as Im not at home. I will test as
soon I get home (Jaunty is installed on an external harddisk).

But kde powermanagement is working well in intrepid. Its in Jaunty I get
the problems. Will be back with the results.

I have some problems with openafs 1.4.7. The sudo /etc/init.d/openafs-

Does your packages work with intrepid, and does it fix the 1.4.7

[Bug 332959] [NEW] kde settings lost after crash

2009-02-22 Thread Terrax
Public bug reported:

Hello

When my computer had crashed og freezed, sometimes my kde loose every
kde settings made. I cannot give specific details, because its random
when it happens. Last night my fglrx crashed after resizing the window
on my mediaplayer (happens with 9.1 and 9.2). After a reboot, my kde
settings was lost. I don't think its a specific video crash problem
though.

After a crash my computer will boot up normally, but every single
settings, but kontact and specific kde apps settings, are lost. I don't
know if it could be corruption in the kde settings files, if the
harddisk is turned off without unmounting? But annoying it is, and now
its the 5. time it happens.

Please if you need any information, just make a reply and I'll answer
it. I know its a bit tricky finding this "bug", because it might not be
a bug, but just the way kde is saving the settings, which is faulty.

Sorry for my English (not native)

[Bug 347179] [NEW] kdesudo kcmshell4 filesharing not working

2009-03-23 Thread Terrax
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdenetwork-filesharing

Hello

I am using kubuntu 9.04 latest update.

Today I tried to share a directory with right clicking on the directory in
dolphin, and choose share.
When I push the filesharing button, it asked me for a password. After typing
the password nothing happended.

I found out I had to install kdenetwork-filesharing and reboot. So far
so good. Tried the same thing again -> nothing happended. I found out
the button calls kdesudo kcmshell4 fileshare, so I tried typing that in
the konsole.

:~$ kdesudo kcmshell4 fileshare
kcmshell(3728) KServiceFactory::findServiceByDesktopPath:
"findServiceByDesktopPath: fileshare.desktop not found

That didn't work. But if I type:
:~$ sudo kcmshell4 fileshare
It works fine.

First of all I think its important that you are prompted with a
dialogue, if you are trying to share anything without kdenetwork-
filesharing is installed. Second I think its very important the kdesudo
thing is fixed before the release of Jaunty.

Just tell me if you like more information. Thanks for this great distro.

[Bug 347982] [NEW] kpackagekit doesn't support proxy

2009-03-24 Thread Terrax
Public bug reported:

Hello everyone

Kpackagekit, which is the great new package management program in
kubuntu 9,04, doesn't work with kde 4.2's proxy settings. Synaptic
supports gnome proxy settings.

Versions:
KDE: Version: 4:4.2.1 latest from jaunty
kpackagekit: Version: 0.4-0ubuntu4 latest from jaunty

to support a proxy. A lot of us is working in a university.

[Bug 210453] Re: Problems with the Display-Brightness

2008-04-19 Thread Terrax
I found a way to change brightness.. We have do make root aktive at
first (Couldn't get it to work with sudo).

Do this:
#sudo passwd root "Now type in a password you like"
#su root
#cd /sys/devices/platform/asus-laptop
#echo 10 > ls_level

Now your brightness should start to light up. If you wan't to disable the light
sensor, type:
#echo 0 > ls_switch

I hope this will help the developers changing the "brightness scripts",
so it will work with newer laptops.

Anybody know where I can change it manually?

I have attached my dmesg, from the power-up procedure.
It mostly happens after third suspend. Never the first suspend.

[Bug 637994] [NEW] Nautilus segmentation fault in libcairo.so.2

2010-09-14 Thread Terrax
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

After todays updates, my background won't load like if the gnome startup
procedure hangs. Gnome also tries to start multible nautilus, but fails
in segmentation faults.

My dmesg gets spammed with errors like:
[ 1844.523907] show_signal_msg: 4 callbacks suppressed

libcairo.so.2.11000.0[b70dc000+ae000]

It is easy to reproduce the bug, by opening nautilus followed by
gnome-settings-daemon.
I am quite sure this bug was introduced with nautilus 1:2.31.92-0ubuntu1.

The bug is present with and without compiz.
