[Bug 1024016] Re: package python3 3.2.3-2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 4

2012-07-13 Thread Tamer Saadeh
I was still facing the problem in #19 as of 14:00 UTC so I manually
downloaded the python packages (python3-minimal, python3, and
python3-all), as suggested by
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python3-defaults/+bug/1024272
and it fixes the problem.

I'm not sure if this should be a duplicate of #849414, since that bug
happened in 10.04 and was fixed. Since I'm seeing something similar in
12.04, then this bug is new and not a duplicate. I might be wrong
though.

Re: [Bug 829221] Re: lightdm crashed with SIGSEGV in initialize_password_db()

2011-10-19 Thread Tamer Saadeh
Dear Steve,

I am unable to report any further details about this bug, since I upgraded a
month ago and my computer crashed. With other complications in the way of
fixing the laptop, I wasn't able to fix it until last week. My fix is
actually a complete re-install of Natty, then upgraded to Onieric. That
said, I do not have the same configurations on my laptop, which happens to
cause many of the bug I was facing to disappear. Therefore, I think it is
safe to say that this bug is incomplete or fixed.

Sorry for the delayed response,
Tamer

[Bug 843647] [NEW] When stopping and starting networking something crashes

2011-09-07 Thread Tamer Saadeh
Public bug reported:

Open terminal and run: "sudo /etc/init.d/networking stop"

This will cause many things to stop functioning correctly and crash.
Even the following command does not fix it: "sudo /etc/init.d/networking
start". This command does not even start the networking interfaces it
just says that it worked but it doesn't really work.

I have also tried the following command: "sudo /etc/init.d/networking
restart". This command seems to be the only one working of the three.
However, it says that it has be deprecated.

I have also tried this after fully updating my computer.

The only workaround that I can see is rebooting the computer.
