[Bug 286530] [NEW] package msttcorefonts 2.4 failed to install/upgrade:
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: msttcorefonts Using Hardy, 8.04.1 msttcorefonts 2.4 I wanted it to install. That failed and now it is stuck in this loop that I can't get rid of. Every time I run any upgrade or install I get an error about this package. Using my browser for the location you sent to me (http://switch.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/corefonts/andale32.exe) works okay. It lets me save the file andale32.exe. I am behind a proxy at my office but all that information should be correctly entered every place. What else do I need to do? Thanks, Sue N. All of the below worked. But I still get the same crash message when I try to uninstall or reinstall the msttcorefonts package. Other ideas? Sue N. I tried the experimental patched installer that Jean-Baptiste mentioned in an earlier comment, this is for Karmic, and they worked. It has been stated that in Lucid version 3.2 of this package is fixed. However that is not true. It will not fail but if you watch the details in fact the same old connection problems still occur.
