[Bug 129925] Re: VCD protocol source plugin not installed

2007-09-24 Thread Steve na Martha
thanks for the info maybe I should switch to the xine version.

But until/if the code is forth coming then maybe the totem-gstreamer
description should be corrected

A simple media player for the Gnome desktop based on gstreamer
Its features :
 .
* Play any gstreamer supported file
* LIRC support
   * Shoutcast, m3u, asx, SMIL and ra playlists support
   * DVD (with menus), VCD and Digital CD (with CDDB) playback

[Bug 129925] Re: VCD protocol source plugin not installed

2007-09-08 Thread Steve na Martha
I have the same problem!

Put a VCD in the drive, Totem launches then gives the error message "VCD
protocol source plugin not installed."

I'm also on Gutsy with all updates installed as of today. Totem is
2.19.90 and about shows GStreamer 0.10.14

[Bug 129925] Re: VCD protocol source plugin not installed

2007-09-08 Thread Steve na Martha
I just tried launching from a terminal to see what additional output
there might be:

 totem /media/cdrom0
** Message: Error: A VCD protocol source plugin is required to play this
stream, but not installed.
gstplaybasebin.c(1604): gen_source_element (): /play:
No URI handler for vcd

** Message: Error: A VCD protocol source plugin is required to play this
stream, but not installed.

No URI handler for vcd

** Message: Missing plugin: gstreamer|0.10|totem|VCD protocol

Hopefully this will help further

[Bug 123951] Re: firestarter crashed with SIGSEGV in __pthread_mutex_unlock_usercnt()

2007-07-23 Thread Steve na Martha
I'm getting the same problem. If I start from the terminal I see this
warning, maybe it has nothing to do with the problem but maybe it will
help.

gksu firestarter

***MEMORY-WARNING***: gksu[8552]: GSlice: g_thread_init() must be called before
all other GLib functions; memory corruption due to late invocation of
g_thread_init() has been detected; this program is likely to crash, leak or
unexpectedly abort soon...
Firewall started

Firestarter then crashes after a few minutes

[Bug 120634] Re: [GUTSY] firefox crashed

2007-08-26 Thread Steve na Martha
OK apologies I have just tested and found this is a GNOME theme problem.
I had tried extensions and Firefox themes but problem still occurred.
But I noticed the problem didn't exist if I was logged on as root so I
changed my user's appearance/them back the Human theme and the problem
seems to have disappeared... now to workout what s causing the problem
in the theme because I really like it :-)

Best Wishes,
Steve
