[Bug 1481371] [NEW] tracker startup seems to block gnome keyring on login

2015-08-04 Thread Steeve McCauley
Public bug reported:

When logging in access to ssh (and anything that uses ssh like git) is
blocked if tracker is enabled in /etc/xdg/autostart. Setting
Hidden=true in the tracker .desktop files allows logins to proceed
unimpeded.

/etc/xdg/autostart$ grep Hidden=true tracker-*
tracker-extract.desktop:Hidden=true
tracker-miner-fs.desktop:Hidden=true
tracker-store.desktop:Hidden=true

This is in Ubuntu 14.04 with gnome shell 3.12.2

tracker would seem to be blocking the gnome-keyring password prompt

** Affects: tracker (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Tags: login tracker

[Bug 1215798] Re: losing windows on Ubuntu 13.10

2014-01-27 Thread Steeve McCauley
I'm seeing this after Alt-F2+r with gnome-terminal as well. When this
happens, I can still interact with the tabs, move between them using the
keyboard (Ctrl+PgUp/PgDn) etc but cannot resize or move the gnome-
terminal window (the title bar is there, but it behaves as if it were
invisible).

[Bug 603985] Re: Istanbul crashes when I stop recording: BadIDChoice error

2010-10-19 Thread Steeve McCauley
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 86281 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/86281

I don't think this is a duplicate of bug #86281, which seems to be sound
related. This happens using the program defaults (no sound, no mouse
pointer, etc).

The program 'istanbul' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadIDChoice (invalid resource ID chosen for this connection)'.
  (Details: serial 2149 error_code 14 request_code 1 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
