While testing Ubuntu Lucid Lynx beta1 on my netbook, it failed the
following testcase:

Live Session Finish Case ID: dls-002

   1. Click on ubuntu top right
   2. Select Shut down... from the drop down list
   3. Ensure you get a dialog confirming the shutdown, select Shut Down
from it
   4. Remove install media and press Enter

I followed the instructions reported above, but the netbook didn't shut
down and I had to force it manually.

[Bug 604547] [NEW] Suspend/resume failure on MacBook Pro

2010-07-12 Thread Simona D.
Public bug reported:

I am testing Maverick Meerkat alpha2 on a MacBook Pro; it failed the
following test, never resuming after suspension.

Suspend/Resume smoke test

Case ID: snr-001

   1. Open a few applications in on the desktop, including Firefox
   2. Look at the top-right corner of your screen, you should find the session
icon alongside of your user-name, click on it to get a drop-down menu
   3.

Now from the drop-down menu select Suspend
   4. After about 10 seconds press the power button on your system to resume
   5. You should be presented with a password prompt; enter your password
   6. Verify that the desktop loads as before, at the correct resolution, that
your applications are still running and that you can connect to the net

File a bug

Extended Suspend/Resume test

Case ID: snr-002

   1. Run the suspend/resume test script included in Ubuntu:

sudo /usr/share/checkbox/scripts/suspend_test --full

This will perform a number of suspend/resume tests. The first few of
these require human intervention such as unplugging the AC cord and
replacing it. Once the main stress test starts no further intervention
will be needed. Any failures to resume should trigger apport which will
guide you in filing a bug in Launchpad.

Also, the failure to resume never triggered apport in order to file a
bug.

I was testing Maverick Meerkat on my netbook (Packard Bell Dot M) and it
failed testcase hmo-001: double-tapping on the right bottom corner of
the touchpad on the desktop does not cause a right-click menu to appear.
Instead, the mouse pointer disappears randomly.

[Bug 555708] Re: [Lucid Lynx beta1] Failed test dls-002 Live Session Finish

2010-07-07 Thread Simona D.
** Package changed: ubuntu => casper (Ubuntu)

** Description changed:

- While testing Ubuntu Lucid Lynx beta1 on my netbook, it failed the
- following testcase:
+ I was testing Maverick Meerkat alpha2 on my Packard Bell Dot M but it
+ failed the following test case:

Live Session Finish Case ID: dls-002

     1. Click on ubuntu top right
     2. Select Shut down... from the drop down list
     3. Ensure you get a dialog confirming the shutdown, select Shut Down
from it
     4. Remove install media and press Enter

I followed the instructions reported above, but the netbook didn't shut
down and I had to force it manually.
-
- See hardware details attached.
