[Bug 317026] Re: netbook-launcher extremely slow

2009-04-24 Thread Simon Baconnais
I have a solution !

It works fine if you modify xorg.conf

You have to add some options in the "Device" section :

Section "Device"
Identifier"Configured Video Device"
Option "AccelMethod" "UXA"
Option "FramebufferCompression" "true"
Option "Legacy3D" "true"
EndSection

And it works :)

It's a problem with the 945ABG driver

[Bug 516412] Re: Pressing causes the system to freeze

2010-02-06 Thread Simon Baconnais
Okay, i think i have a solution !

Actually, this morning xserver-xorg-video-intel have been upgraded and
it have solved the problem.

But a few minutes ago i had a new plymouth upgrade that brought back the
problem.

So I tried to reinstall xserver-xorg-video-intel, and it solved the
problem.

I think that plymouth upgrades just break the xorg conf (or something
like that), but an aptitude reinstall xserver-xorg-video-intel (or ati,
or nv, etc.) can fix it :)

[Bug 446412] [NEW] Resolution problem with double screens on Karmic's boot

2009-10-08 Thread Simon Baconnais
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu Karmic Koala 9.10 beta (64 bits), fully upgraded on 08/10/2009

With double (multi ?) screen, there is screen resolution problems.

Configuration -> I configured Ubuntu to disable the screen on my laptop
(1280x800), to use an external sreen (1280x1024).

Usplash : The laptop screen isn't disabled, Resolution is ok for both
screens.

Xsplash+GDM :
   - The resolution is 1024x768 on both screens.
   - On the laptop screen that should disabled, the image is stetched to fit
with the screen resolution (1280x800).
   - On the external screen (1280x1024), the image is stetched to 1280x800
resolution, and there is black strips on top and bottom.
   - After the GDM, during Gnome loading, the laptop screen is finally
disabled, but the image on external screen still 1020x768, on the top-left
corner and there still black strips on right and bottom.
   - When Gnome is laucnhed, it's all ok.

You can also see the attached video (3gp).

 - On external screen (1280x1024), image is stetched to 1280x800
resolution, and there is black strips on top and bottom.

Gnome loading : during first part of Gnome loading, resolution problem
remains, but after a few seconds laptop screen is disabled and external
