Public bug reported: Hello, I am using Kubuntu 9.04 Jaunty. Kile package version is: kile-1:2.1.0~svn942443-0ubuntu3. Upon launching Kile 2.1 the editor is very slow, e.g. page down page up takes longer than a second, keyboard presses also lag noticeably - it's difficult to select text. Menu operations seem to work fine, and buttons are responsive, just the text editing is very slow. Thanks for the quick response! I have tried the same file (which is less than 1000 lines of LaTeX) in Kate and it's faster (in fact, as fast as would be expected). One thing that I should've mentioned is that I set Kile to display text in Courier New (from the standard Microsoft fonts package). Kate shows text in Liberation Mono.
