[Bug 80442] Re: [Upstream] [hardy] DnD to OpenOffice.org impress creates links

The bug is still an issue. Moreover, it creates links even when
inserting while Insert->Picture->From file.

I'll need manually break links from Edit->Links

version 2.4.1-11ubuntu2.1

[Bug 290506] Re: cheese doesn't show v4l2 video output and disables output on gstreamer-based apps ran afterwards

2008-11-10 Thread Said Babayev
I can reproduce the bug, but not only with cheese, as Filippo said. The
thing is, camera seems to work very slow, I mean, if I start gstreamer-
properties and click test input video in video tab, it takes about a
minute for video to appear, regardless I started cheese before, or not.
Ekiga, Kopete, closed source Skype work flawlessly. Also uvcvideo
itself. I think, the problem is in gstreamer, or may be other framework
(pulseaudio? however its not related at all). Anyway, if Ekiga,Kopete
and KDE does not use gstreamer, and can handle camera correctly, then
problem seem to be in gstreamer itself, not in Cheese which just uses
gstreamer as resource.

Thanks!

P.S. I'm not a developer, and may think wrong

2008-11-13 Thread Said Babayev
Actually this did not help me, may be because I have a little bit different
problem

I'm able to get cheese to work, as well as gstreamer-properties test, but
with a long delay. It take about a minute for picture to start showing in
gstreamer-properties test, and even more on cheese. However after that
period, camera works flawlessly.

I'm getting several messages in /var/log/messages like these as video starts
to appear:

Nov 13 19:39:13 sevinc-laptop kernel: [ 497.941102] uvcvideo: device Acer
Crystal Eye webcam requested null bandwidth, defaulting to lowest.
Nov 13 19:39:29 sevinc-laptop kernel: [ 514.821494] uvcvideo: device Acer
Crystal Eye webcam requested null bandwidth, defaulting to lowest.

As I mentioned above, programs like ekiga, kopete, skype, luvcview works
flawlessly.

P.S. Messages above also appear once luvcvideo and other non-gstreamer apps
started.

[Bug 288682] Re: f-spot crashes when started in guest session mode

2008-11-04 Thread Said Babayev
I can confirm, that Import is greyed out. Also tried adding sample
picture to folder, but still, couldn't import anything.

Actually, f-spot first loads folder contents of selected directory, and
after that Import button is being activated. The problem may be related
to listing and loading directory contents, and may relate to apparmor.

P.S. Under usual account, subj works correctly.

[Bug 294036] [NEW] Evolution can't handle OpenOffice attachments with doubleclick

2008-11-05 Thread Said Babayev
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

1)Description: Ubuntu 8.10
Release:8.10

2) evolution:
  Installed: 2.24.1-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 2.24.1-0ubuntu2

3) I'm trying to open a MS Office file (.xls/.doc), from message window
in attachment section, but nothing happens. If I right click, and select
"open with openoffice", it works. All other files are ok, (.odt, .ods,
.jpeg, etc)

4) When I double click a file in attachment section, it should open with
openoffice.

Seems like problem related to file association

Assuming that guest sessions "home folder" is under /tmp, then this case is
technically normal, but practically, guest still can't use f-spot importing
features, e.g. just to insert his camera, import and view his pictures.

Re: [Bug 294036] Re: Evolution can't handle OpenOffice attachments with doubleclick

2008-11-05 Thread Said Babayev
I've attached file created with MS Office 2003. One important note, is that
files created with OO in .doc format, are handled by evolution correctly.
Even if I edit this test file with OO, and save it, it will become working
in evo. So, problem is with files created by MS Office only.

[Bug 294345] [NEW] fast video recording with flickering audio

2008-11-05 Thread Said Babayev
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cheese

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 on laptop with Acer Crystaleye web camera.

Camera works ok, sound recording is ok in different apps (sound
recorder, skype, ekiga, etc), but not in cheese.

It may be related to video encoding mechanism of cheese. So after
recording, video is ultra fast with almost no sound (sometimes
flickers).

[Bug 288701] [NEW] fast-user-switch-applet behaves incorrectly, showing shutdown options in guest and more

2008-10-24 Thread Said Babayev
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: fast-user-switch-applet

Ubuntu 8.10 RC
fast-user-switch-applet 2.24.0-0ubuntu6

Two problems here:
First I see shutdown/restart options while in guest session mode, screenshot
attached.

steps to reproduce:

1) Login to desktop with normal user
2) Select to start guest session
3) Switch back to normal user selecting from applet that user
4) Switch to guest again
5) Select shutdown/restart from appeared in applet (they should not be there).
Crashes the session, and gives you an option to enter normal user password to
return.
After that, you'll see two options in applets: "guest" (assuming that session
is still active) and "guest session" to start a new one.

Above mentioned crash (crash in guest session trying to
restart/shutdown) makes the session "active", and not deleted from hard
drive.

[Bug 1365979] Re: When i select Azerbaijani language package then indicator is not visible.

2014-09-05 Thread Said Babayev
Just tried installing fresh Ubuntu 14.04.1 and applied all available
updates. I chose Azerbaijani as a main system locale during the
installation and moved Azerbaijani to top in "Language support", then
applied the settings system wide.

After logging back in, I noticed only two problems:
* Application menus were inside apps, instead of being in top panel
* Unity applets were missing from the top panel: date, time, messaging menu,
power menu, etc, i.e. in order to logout I was forced to "sudo reboot" in
terminal

However I could not reproduce RTL issue.

[Bug 1365979] Re: When i select Azerbaijani language package then indicator is not visible.

2014-09-05 Thread Said Babayev
I was able to partially fix this by performing steps described below:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/363097/no-menu-bar-shown-on-the-top-panel-after-upgrading-to-13-10

That brought language indicator and network activity to panel, however I
still didn't get the power menu.

I think this bug should be reassigned to correct team.

I was able to get power menu by running this:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/indicator-session/indicator-session-service

Seems like autostart items under /usr/share/upstart/xdg/autostart not
executed during session start.

Reassigning to indicator-session package team

@MaksimKa
I didn't install this patch, waiting for update repo, but regarding "Same
here it often happens when screen is locked" it happens for me too (I didn't
apply this patch), so I think it is not related with bugfix. P.S. I avoid
this bug by turning off "Separate layout for each window"
