[Bug 130817] trackerd eating CPU and memory

2007-08-07 Thread Ryan Grieve
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: tracker

System:

Lenovo IBM Thinkpad r60e
1.7GHz Intel Core Duo
1024MB DDR
Intel 945GM w/ 950GMA
Intel ProWireless 3945
Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon (as of 06/08/07 updates)

Problem:

>From the moment the GDM screen appears after boot trackerd starts to
devour system resources bringing keystrokes, mouse movements and X
refreshes to an almost complete standstill.

Switching out a virtual terminal allows me to login and run 'top'.
Revealing that trackerd is taking from 40% - 90% CPU and fairly
consistently taking ~85% of available memory. Killing the app is
fruitless as it appears to be persistent.

Temporary Solution:

I have uninstalled tracker for now.

** Affects: tracker (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

2007-08-07 Thread Ryan Grieve
This also happens on my Thinkpad r60e, I often get the dialog popping up
and showing me the brightness without changing it. Occasionally it sets
itself to fully dimmed without actually dimming the display. Recently
the dialog has also refused to disappear.

[Bug 109900] Unable to enter password after screen lock

2007-04-25 Thread Ryan Grieve
Public bug reported:

When running beryl on my laptop (r60e, intel 950GMA), the password entry
field which appears when the screen is locked is uneditable.

Switching to a console (ctrl+alt+f1) and entering "killall beryl" and
switching back allows me to enter the password.

Bug is reproducible.

[Bug 103288] Ordered Lists cannot be copied and pasted correctly

2007-04-05 Thread Ryan Grieve
Public bug reported:

After creating an ordered list similar to that below...

1) Item Number 1
2) Item Number 3
3) Item Number 2
4) Item Number 4

If we select and copy the whole list and then attempt to paste it in
later in the document, it will not retain its own order, resulting in...

5) Item Number 1
6) Item Number 2
7) Item Number 3
8) Item Number 4

This occurs no matter how far apart the two instances of the list are,
or even if there is another list between them.

[Bug 103288] Re: Ordered Lists cannot be copied and pasted correctly

2007-04-05 Thread Ryan Grieve
sorry, i find that odd, if I'm copying and pasting a list i expect the
whole list to be copied if i have that whole list selected, including
numbering.

I also find that this behaviour occurs in another inappropriate way. If
I copied a line of text out of one list and paste it in to another
completely separate list, that line then adopts the numbering system of
the list the paste came from even when this makes no sense.

1) one one
2) two two < - if i copy only the text after the number on this line
3) three three

-

1) un un
2) deux deux<-- and paste it in here
3) trois trois

-

1) un un
4) two two <-- i get this
3) trois trois

---

I can understand the necessary functionality of this behaviour in
similar circumstances as my original example in the bug report. But I
can see no need for the behaviour in this second example.

[Bug 205574] Re: Screensaver does not activate while mouse pointer on tooltip

2010-04-09 Thread Ryan Grieve
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 49579 ***

Flavio, hints need to know the location of the mouse to determine when
to show and hide. Seems reasonable that they should grab the mouse.

This bug seems to be completely fixed in latest LibreOffice.

I'd be interested to know when it was fixed if any such information is
available.
