[Bug 374512] Re: Traceback when attempting to open gwibber
A few days after I reported this bug, it went away as mysteriously as it appeared and I've been unable to reproduce since. I will report back if it happens again (and will play with the python-indicate package if it does as well). -- Traceback when attempting to open gwibber https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/374512 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 383930] Re: checkbox needs a headset test
This should be covered as a result of implementing the Extended Audio Testing spec: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/Specs/ExtendedAudioTesting (Checkbox should also verify that the inputs and outputs are detected properly; e.g. that the headphone output as labeled on the card is the headphone output as labeled in volume control.) -- checkbox needs a headset test https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/383930 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 393522] [NEW] empathy tray icon does not change state when state changed in fusa applet
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: empathy When changing status from 'available' to 'offline' via the fast-user- switching panel applet, empathy correctly changes to 'offline' but the empathy notification icon remains in the 'available' state. This appears to be a regression as the behavior in jaunty is as expected. Steps to reproduce: 1. Ensure that the fusa applet is present on the panel. 2. Open empathy and put at least one account in the 'available state. 3. Observe that both the empathy notification icon and the fusa status icon are a green circle, indicating 'available'. 4. Click the fusa applet and select 'Offline'. 5. Observe that while empathy actually goes offline and the fusa applet status is updated, the empathy notification icon remains in the 'available' state. Expected results: 1. empathy notification icon is updated to reflect 'offline' status. Actual results: 1. empathy notification icon remains in 'available' status. [Bug 382430] [NEW] Notification icon references "Check for updates" button but the button is labeled "Check"
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager When reporting out-of-date package information, a notification icon appears. The text when hovering over this icon is: The update information is outdated. This may be caused by network problem or by repository that is no longer available. [Bug 341928] [NEW] Consistently reproducible "device or resource busy" error on partitioning
Public bug reported: Upon partitioning during install, I receive the following message: Error informing the kernel about modifications to partition /dev/cciss/c0d0p1 -- Device or resource busy. This means Linux won't know about any changes you made to /dev/cciss/c0d0p1 until you reboot -- so you shouldn't mount it or use it in any way before rebooting. I can reliably reproduce this about 75% of the time. I believe it is so reproducible as this machine is being reimaged with a different partitioning scheme each time before I run the installer. I will attach syslog and partman and can reproduce this as necessary to get additional information. These logs are from an HP Proliant DL320s G1 with the Jaunty server amd64 image from March 10 2009 but it is occurring on multiple different machines and disc images. Per cjwatson I am creating a new bug rather than attaching this to an existing similar bug. ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Consistently reproducible "device or resource busy" error on partitioning https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/341928 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Running the install from the Jaunty server amd64 image from March 10 2009 sometimes hangs after partitioning the disk. No errors or menus are displayed on the screen. [Bug 341928] Re: Consistently reproducible "device or resource busy" error on partitioning
This is still reliably repeatable on at least one machine using the Jaunty Server image from 17 March 2009. The machine is 'berkelium' in the enablement testing environment, an HP Proliant DL360 G5. Attached are syslog and partman from the installer. I'm pretty consistently able to reproduce this -- I just got it twice in a row. It can be reproduced here, or for reference here's what I'm doing: 1. Start with a system partitioned to use LVM. 2. Perform an install attempting to repartition the LVM space as a single normal partition. 3. Observe the behavior described above. I'm not sure if the steps above are specifically related to reproducing this bug, but merely describing what we're doing when we see it. ** Attachment added: "partman" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24018708/partman -- Consistently reproducible "device or resource busy" error on partitioning https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/341928 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 356518] Re: HP ML110 fails to boot with grub after server install via PXE / serial console
While booted from the CD in rescue mode, I ran grub-install: # grub-install --no-floppy '(hd0)' You shouldn't call /sbin/grub-install. Please call /usr/sbin/grub-install instead! Searching for GRUB installation directory ... found: /boot/grub Installing GRUB to (hd0) as (hd0)... Installation finished. No error reported. This is the contents of the device map /boot/grub/device.map. Check if this is correct or not. If any of the lines is incorrect, fix it and re-run the script `grub-install'. [Bug 356518] [NEW] HP ML110 fails to boot with grub after server install via PXE / serial console
Public bug reported: I am seeing the following behavior on two HP ML110s: The install of the Jaunty image is performed via PXE through the serial console. [Bug 412492] [NEW] X flickers wildly whenever anything on-screen updates
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg After dist-upgrading today on , X flickers and is unusable any time any object on the screen is painted. Opening the main menu from the panel causes the entire screen to flicker for around a second. Switching desktops or opening/closing/moving a window causes similar behavior. The flickering appears to be parts of the screen being briefly updated in the wrong place; it's much like a jerky shift of halves or quarters of the screen to the wrong position very briefly. Deactivating compiz does not seem to change this behavior. (I apologize for the poor quality of the video, but it gives a sample of the effect.) In the video I have opened the main menu and then switched to another virtual desktop. [Bug 261937] Re: Ubuntu server freeze when running more than one cpu in VMware ESX 3
So far I have been unable to reproduce this issue. I've been testing on two machines, a 32- and 64-bit VM, each with 4 processors. I've left them running unattended, run large compiles on them to peg the processors, alternated between pegging the CPUs and leaving them idle, and nothing has yet managed to lock these up. They're running 8.04.2 currently. Was anyone still seeing this issue on 8.04.2 or do I need to go back and try on e.g. 8.04.1? -- Ubuntu server freeze when running more than one cpu in VMware ESX 3 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/261937 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 511624] Re: Audio not directed to external speakers when laptop docked
Jeremy, It's been an issue with all the dailies and with the final 10.04 kernel as well. I have not tried with the upstream kernel yet but will try to do so this week. I'm not sure if it's related but I also seem to get a lot of noise through the speakers that sounds like RFI... e.g. cranking up a process that works the CPU causes noticeable noise. Dragging a window across the screen with the volume turned up does as well. So it seems like the speakers are getting power at least. 10.04 kernel apport-collect data to follow. ** Description changed: Using an HP Pavilion dv7 with an HP xb4 Notebook Media Docking Station. When the notebook is connected to the docking station via the expansion cable, sound is not routed through the docking station but continues to play through the notebook speakers. All other functionality of the dock appears to work -- power, network, USB, etc. are transferred. Only audio is not.
