[Bug 570004] [NEW] package drupal5 5.7-1ubuntu1.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2010-04-25 Thread Roland Burton
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: drupal5

Drupal 5.7 failed to post-install because it needed mysql. After
installing mysql it tried again to post-install and failed. Sorry I
don't know enough of what I am doing to describe the problem better. I
will try and uninstall mysql, apache, and drupal and then install
apache, mysql and drupal in that order and see if that helps.

[Bug 478669] Re: beep doesn't beep

2010-05-17 Thread Roland Burton
I found that modprobe pcspkr works for me, but not if
1) you remove pcspkr from /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
or
2) you add pcspkr to /etc/modules

This is all somewhat paradoxical and mysterious, and didn't really get me to
where I wanted to be, which was to get Qt's QApplication::beep(); working for
me again. It quit when I changed to Ubuntu 10.4
This part of Ubuntu seems to be acan of worms at the moment.

My Bug# is 111077 for this

2009-11-02 Thread Roland Burton
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: yelp

I run two versions of Ubuntu, dual booted, primarily Intrepid, but
sometimes 9.10. I choose these via GRUB. I suspect that suspend would
have trouble un-suspending if it was suspended from the secondary Ubuntu
(9.10). So don't try and fix this, guys. I shouldn't expect it to
work. Please delete my previous posting about suspend. Thanks
