happens again I'll let you know :-)

[Bug 1592936] [NEW] Circular symlinks break snapd

2016-06-15 Thread Roberto Alsina
Public bug reported:

I seem to have managed to create a snap that contains a circular
symlink, and it totally breaks snapd, it cannot be removed, or upgraded.

Here's an example of what happens:

$ snap install nikola*snap

NameVersion Rev Developer Notes
nikola 7.7.9x1 -
ralsina@clakker:~/canonical/nikola-snap$ snap remove nikola*snap
error: cannot remove "nikola_7.7.9_amd64.snap": cannot find snap
"nikola_7.7.9_amd64.snap"
ralsina@clakker:~/canonical/nikola-snap$ snap remove nikola

error: cannot perform the following tasks:
- Remove data for snap "nikola" (lstat
/home/ralsina/snap/nikola/x1/snap/nikola/x1/snap/[...]/nikola/x1/snap/nikola/x1/snap/nikola/x1/snap/nikola/x1/snap:
 file name too long)

I have no idea how I caused that, here's the snapcraft.yaml

name: nikola
version: 7.7.9
summary: A static website generator
description: A static website generator
confinement: devmode

apps:
nikola:
 command: usr/bin/nikola

parts:
nikola:
plugin: python3
source: git://github.com/getnikola/nikola.git
requirements: requirements-extras.txt
build-packages: [libxml2-dev, libxslt1-dev, zlib1g-dev, cython3,
libfontconfig1-dev, libfreetype6-dev, libice-dev, libjbig-dev, liblcms2-dev,
liblzma-dev, libpng12-dev, libjpeg8-dev, gcc]

I can attach the snap if needed but it's rather large (65MB)

The workaround by Oliver doesn't wok for me, apparently because the

Here's a version that is working for me with snapcraft 2.11, snapd 2.0.8

[Bug 1634394] [NEW] ubuntu-core-launcher confinement error on Yakkety

[Bug 872924] Re: Resuming a failed upload crashes with ValueError: I/O operation on closed file

2012-03-16 Thread Roberto Alsina
Sergei, thanks for taking the time to test Ubuntu One.

That error message seems to point to a disk failure or corrupted
dowload, since the only way to cause it is to have a corrupt or
truncated library.zip.

On the other hand, your problem is obviously unrelated to the issue
where you posted it, which is annoying to those who are subscribed to it
because they were affected.

Please, if you do care about getting it fixed, create a new bug report.
It does seem like something that has not been reported by the previous
several hundred thousand installs.

[Bug 1474435] [NEW] "Smart dialing" is not supported

2015-07-14 Thread Roberto Alsina
Public bug reported:

In Android, Windows phone, and older platforms (meaning, everywhere but
iOS and apparently Jolla) you can use the T9 letters in the dialer app
to type the beginning of names and get suggested phone numbers.

For example, if "Mom" is a contact, then typing 66 will suggest contacts
that start with / contain "mo", even if the number doesn't include 66.

I swear that Mom being 666 in this context is purely a coincidence, my
mom is a perfectly lovely person :-)

In my case, even doing nothing it fills. I suspect this is because we
are getting the "more suggestions" when the scope starts, and if wifi is
taking a while to connect, then there is nothing there. We should query
when wifi connects instead.

[Bug 1255653] Re: Click apps nearly impossible to install.

2013-12-05 Thread Roberto Alsina
The problem seems to be that the download is started, which when it's
finished will cause the app to be installed, BUT the scope is not
checking whether the app it's displaying on the preview is being
downloaded.

So, when the preview is refreshed (for example, because you navigated
away), you get "Install" and no process, even though the app is being
downloaded already.

[Bug 993866] Re: Ubuntu-one crash and forgot the user and password after deleting device

2012-05-21 Thread Roberto Alsina
Hello, and thanks for reporting this!

The "remove device" button in control panel removes the current device,
meaning the one you are using.

When you do that, you don't have credentials anymore, which is why you
are "logged out". To remove other devices, you can do it from the
website.

When you say crash, did control panel close? It should just switch to
the login / signup form.

[Bug 974606] Re: Qt Log-in dialog is too large

2012-05-14 Thread Roberto Alsina
I could comment on you using 3pt fonts :-)

Thing is, we are trying not to resize the dialog, so it's as big as it's
biggest page (the signup one).

I think we should get rid of this page entirely: "So, you logged in,
great, here is the thing you were trying to do when we sent you to
login".

Assigning to rtgrant for further comments: Robert: Agree we should just
get rid of this page?

[Bug 1359720] [NEW] mailto: URLs in contact are shown wrong in app preview

2014-08-21 Thread Roberto Alsina
Public bug reported:

According to what I saw while submitting an app the "Contact" field must
be a URL and it can be a http https or mailto URL.

However, using mailto:roberto.als...@canonical.com as my contact URL
makes that appear literally in the app preview before installing it (app
is called hello).

Either the store needs to reject mailto URLs or the preview needs to
show them correctly.

[Bug 1360366] [NEW] Qt.labs.settings using ~/.config/qt-project.org which is blocked by apparmor

2014-08-22 Thread Roberto Alsina
Public bug reported:

I was using Qt.labs.settings in a QML app, and when trying to store
settings in a click app running on ubuntu touch, I get this:

Aug 22 16:49:17 ubuntu-phablet kernel: [ 144.375949] type=1400
audit(1408726157.559:149): apparmor="DENIED" operation="mkdir"

name="/home/phablet/.config/qt-project.org/" pid=2846 comm="qmlscene"
requested_mask="c" denied_mask="c" fsuid=32011 ouid=32011

jdstrand suggested this was caused by not setting applicationName in my
QML, but it is set, see http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ralsina/ubuntu-
push-qml/nicer-example/view/head:/example/main.qml for the code.

So, looks like a bug in settings?

[Bug 1380662] Re: legacy apps re-set their notification status on reboot

2014-10-14 Thread Roberto Alsina
This seems to affect only legacy apps (external drives and system-
settings) and not every time.

The only difference in the setting between legacy and click apps is that
legacy apps are stored like:

('', 'ciborium')

and click apps like:

('com.ubuntu.developer.webapps.webapp-facebook', 'webapp-facebook')

The entries are removed on boot, so it's not system settings that's
deleting them. Is there something that checks gsettings against schemas
that may be "cleaning" this?

There is no code outside of system settings that actually *writes* to this

2012-12-12 Thread Roberto Alsina
Could you attach the ubuntuone logs? They are located in
~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/

Since those logs may contain filenames and other private information,
I'll mark the bug as private.

try:
from PIL import Image

[Bug 1069555] Re: u1 control panel signs me out of u1 locally when I remove a different device

2012-10-21 Thread Roberto Alsina
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1052470 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1052470

Hello, and thanks for reporting this, it helps us improve Ubuntu One.

You seem to have misunderstood the way that part of the control panel
works. Basically, you can see the authorized devices, but the "remove"
button is only meant to remove the local device, which is displayed next
to it.

To remotely remove other devices, please use the Ubuntu One website.

[Bug 1064037] Re: U1 shortcut in control panel and nautilus points to different locations

2012-10-08 Thread Roberto Alsina
That's not a bug: If you have a Nautilus bookmark pointing at any
folder, and you move that folder, then the bookmark will follow your
move.

In this case, I am assuming you had ~/Ubuntu One and moved it into ~/Bureau and
later created a new ~/Ubuntu One.
When you moved the folder, the bookmark got updated, and it just stayed that
way.
