Re: [Bug 1030216] Missing required logs.
Dear Brad, I gave up and moved to Linux Mint 13--graphics working fine. Not sure what the problem is with Ubuntu. Re: [Bug 1030216] Re: Graphics issue with AMD-10 4655
Dear Alex, I gave up on Ubuntu and moved to Linux Mint 13. The issue with the watermark was fixed by finding a script online. [Bug 1030216] [NEW] Graphics issue with AMD-10 4655
Public bug reported: I have tried to dual boot Ubuntu 12.04 with a new laptop (HP 6z1000 Sleekbook) with the new AMD A-10 4655 APU (Trinity processor). The performance was sluggish and had a watermark 'AMD hardware not supported'. Using the recommended proprietary graphics drivers didn't help, and removal of the watermark didn't help performance. The Ubuntu experience is similar to a poor Windows Vista experience as far as speed. The Windows 7 boot with this processor is very good-very close to my previous experience with Ubuntu on a older laptop. I tried 'Ask Ubuntu' and trialed the suggested 12.10 Alpha 2 build--I also tried the Alpha 3 build. Both had a similar behaviour of a typical purple Ubuntu splashscreen followed by an absolutely blank black screen --nothing. Any suggestions would be helpful. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1030216 Title: Graphics issue with AMD-10 4655 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1030216/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
