[Bug 1770595] [NEW] Invesalius crashes at startup @ Ubuntu 18.04

2018-05-11 Thread Renat
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 18.04 x 64, clean installation, tested on two different notebooks and in
one VM, problem persists everywhere.
Invesalius 3.1.1-1~xenial was installed from Ubuntu own repository, but, when
you try to start this program, it's splash screen appears for a moment, then
disappears, and that's it. No window to create crash report, nothing. Like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JV0EOkidR1k

By the way, same problem was with Ubuntu 16.04, if you'll not install
invesalius-bin package (.deb files were obtained from Invesalius site in
that case). In Ubuntu 18.04 installation of this package doesn't help,
though.

Re: [Bug 1739578] Update Released

2019-04-17 Thread Renat
Hi guys

Thanks for updates. I checked if it’s available in the latest (edge) core snap
for Ubuntu Core 16.
The manifest file says that Netplan version used there is `nplan
0.32~16.04.6`.

Is it planned to get support for this feature in ubuntu core 16?

Thanks,
Renat

Hi Thiago, thank you for this suggestion - and for this app.

[Bug 1717857] [NEW] UDisks2 interface restricts sending DBus.Properties.Get message from the client to udisksd service

2017-09-17 Thread Renat
Public bug reported:

I'm getting DBus DENIED errors when trying to get a list of mount points
using `DBus.Properties.Get` call on the
"/org/freedesktop/UDisks2/block_devices/mmcblk0p2" path.

I think it's because DBus part of "udisks2:service" slot of the
"udisks2" interface is too restrictive on this particular type of
message.

Look at connected slot apparmor[1], you will see that it allows sending
DBus.Properties interface messages, but not receiving them. That snippet
is inserted to the udisks2 AppArmor file and only allows udisks2 to send
DBus.Properties message from udisks2 to the client, but not vice versa.

More information could be found in the bash session[2].

[Bug 1310864] [NEW] Desktop URL shortcuts, added from Firefox, are not movable

2014-04-21 Thread Renat
Public bug reported:

Let's open http://www.ubuntu.com/ at Firefox, an then let's drag "Earth" icon
left to site's URL, and drop it to the surface of our desktop-worktable. For
now all is fine, icon-link (actually "The leading OS for PC, tablet, phone and
cloud | Ubuntu.desktop" file at ~/Desktop) was created, we can open Ubuntu.com
site by clicking it. We can delete it, or move to other folder as well. But we
can't move it over the desktop surface, error message will be shown after such
attempt:
Error while copying “/”.
There was an error copying the file into /home/renat/Desktop.
Error opening file '/': Is a directory

"The leading OS for PC, tablet, phone and cloud | Ubuntu.desktop" file is
definitely a file, not a folder, it contains this data:

[Bug 1033437] Re: Profile won't load. Ubuntu 12.10 amd64 daily.

2012-10-26 Thread Renat
In my case problem arose because /home/myUserName/.mozilla was owned by
root user for some reason - unlike other hidden folders. So sudo chown
-R myUserName:myUserName /home/myUserName/.mozilla did the trick, and
Firefox works well now.

[Bug 1954564] Re: "linux-modules-extra" module missing in pc-kernel snap for 20/track

2022-02-09 Thread Renat
We've successfully built the kernel snap with the rtl8821ce-5.5.2.1 module.
I can confirm that it boots loads and enables the WiFi interface. I disabled
Secure Boot to make it work.

The problem is in Secure Boot, it doesn't allow us to load the module when
enabled.

Is there any chance that this module will be included in the focal pre-built
modules, so we don't need to build it with dkms?
