[Bug 51757] Unable to access my bank account

2006-07-03 Thread R S Gill
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: konqueror

I have set up Konqueror to identify itself as IE 6.0 on Windows XP when
accessing my bank account
(https://secure.fundsxpress.com/piles/fxweb.pile/login?iid=4LSBLI).

Under crypto settings in Konqueror, I have enabled all the ciphers. SSL
2 and SSL3 are enabled.

Under Peer SSL Certificates, I have verified and and accepted the
secure.fundsxpress.com certificate.

Yet each time I try to login to my bank account, I get the following
error:

In order to provide maximum security of your financial records, we
require your browser software to support a minimum of 128 bit encryption
to access Internet Banking.

I am then prompted to install Netscape or Internet Explorer.

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Not only does it work with Firefox but with the Konqueror that is
bundled with other distributions eg Knoppix, Kanotix, FreeMepis,
Desktop-BSD, PC-BSD etc. With Konqueror from other distibutions,
everything worked out of the box without any need to fiddle with default
settings.

I was using the version of Konqueror that shipped with Dapper. Since
this problem was a show stopper for me, I stopped using Kubuntu and went
back to Ubuntu and Firefox.

[Bug 212970] Re: nautilus-share permissions

2008-04-07 Thread R S Gill
The attached screen shot shows exactly how I've got my home directory
shared using nautilus-share.

With the share setup as in the picture, I can browse to the share from Windows
vista Ultimate Edition and have read-only permissions.
How can I give myself read-write access?

What about these scenarios (there are many other scenarios I'm sure):
How can I give others read-write access?
How can I give others read-only access?
How can I give some people read-only access but remove the ability of others to
even browse?

With shares-admin, I had read-write access to my home directory without
the need to play with config files.

[Bug 212970] Re: nautilus-share permissions

2008-04-07 Thread R S Gill
I just realized the screen shot was not clear. Here it is attached again.
Also you will notice that the GUI of nautilus-share only allows guest access
and read-write for everyone else.
This implies that the user creating the share should have read-write by
default, which in my case is not true, or that the GUI is lacking. If the later
is true, the GUI should also expose a check box to allow read-write for the
user creating the share.
