[Bug 293326] Re: [8.10] Wrong xorg.conf file for VIA KM400 graphic chipset
In Jaunty I was able to get my VIA KM400 video working without a special xorg.conf file by modifying the xserver-xorg-video-openchrome package with the minor change described in comment 41 at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=389201. I couldn't get it to work at all otherwise. This video worked in Intrepid with a modified xorg.conf file. ** Bug watch added: Red Hat Bugzilla #389201 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=389201 -- [8.10] Wrong xorg.conf file for VIA KM400 graphic chipset https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/293326 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 15296] Re: gthumb mis-detects che-ez snap digital camera
I have a cheap camera device that has a 'info.product' of 'Che-ez! Snap / iClick Tiny VGA Digital Camera' and usb_device.product_id of '37152 (0x9120)' that is detected as 'Argus DC-1510' by the default app Ubunutu Dapper runs when the device is plugged in (I assume thats Gthumb). It is unable to import the pictures. If I run gphoto2 I get: ~$ gphoto2 --auto-detect Model Port -- Argus DC-1510 usb: But gphoto2 works (will download images). -- gthumb mis-detects che-ez snap digital camera https://launchpad.net/bugs/15296 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 24925] Re: Unlink after no-IRQ
I can verify this problem isn't in 2.6.15-25-386 but is in 2.6.15-26-386 and edgy 2.6.17-7-386. "sudo rmmod ehci_hcd" allows the device to work but at USB 1.1 speeds. This is on an Averatec 3250 laptop. [Bug 54273] Re: USB device not accepting address: error -110
USB worked fine in 2.6.15-25-386 but no longer int 2.6.15-26-386 and edgy 2.6.17-7-386. "rmmod ehci_hcd" does allow USB devices to work at 1.1 speeds. [Bug 24925] Re: Unlink after no-IRQ
I agree with Tero. This really should be a higher priority. This is a major regression that would effectively completely break USB for a typical user with this hardware. I think this problem suggests it could be prudent to either be more conservative with kernel updates or provide a mechanism to get these changes tested by a wider audience before they make it to an "average user". If a typical Windows user installed Ubuntu then USB just broke, they would consider Ubuntu a flaky piece of shit. Every time I google this I find more people and more Ubuntu bugs that all look like the same problem. I can confirm that xtables-addons-dkms 2.3-1 installed with linux- image-3.13.0-27-generic caused a kernel panic soon after loading shorewall.
