[Bug 246079] Re: Brasero creates checksum by default
The md5 checksum enabled by default makes burning the DVD much longer, other burning programs do not do that. Checksum is good feature and I'm sure that some people find it useful, but for newcomers it is irritating. Now Brasero is default in gnome so many newbies will be using it. If someone who is burning so important data (and that is very lov percentage...) will need md5 checksum will take care of it and enable it. All the rest will be only annoyed. People by new, fast burners and on Barsero burning will take much longer than for example in Nero, and they may switch to other application or back to Windows. We don't want that, Barsero is great! Public bug reported: Binary package hint: vlc Tested on: client: laptop with Ubuntu 9.10 with VLC 1.0.0-1ubuntu1 server: Windows XP Home SP3 A) 1. Create shared directory with some videos on windows 2. Browse the shared directory with Nautilus (should look like smb://_group_/_share-name_/) 3. Play video with VLC 4. An error occurs, and fixing AVI is proposed 5. Click "Don't fix" and close error dialog 6. Movie is now played, but you can't use seekbar and total movie time is unknown Now strange thing: B) Do steps 1-2 3. Play video 2-3 times rapidly, one after another, as fast as you can 4. The error dialog is shown, but no avi fixing is prosed 5. Close error dialogs and other VLC instances, leave only one 6. You can now fully use seek bar and total time is displayed correctly Of course bug occurs in A4-6 and fix should look like at B6. ** Affects: vlc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Playing video from SMB shared directory reported as error but workaround possible https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/405235 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

the package from Gerfried Fuchs link (libsdl1.2debian_1.2.14-5.1) indeed fix both wesnoth and openttd bugs, but have dependences problem (requaiers libsvga1_1.4.3-29 and libdirectfb-1.2-9_1.2.10.0-3, but replacing the last one brokes a lot of dependences in lucid. [Bug 96976] Re: gparted shows empty disk
After a few hours i an found an ultimate solution: (done under ubuntu 9.10 livecd) 1. Install testdisk from repo (sudo apt-get install testdisk) 2. Run testdisk from console (sudo testdisk) 3. select: "no log" (choose your drive) and "proceed" "intel" "analyse" "quick search" (if found not enough try "deeper search") press Y if you have Vista/Win7 or N otherwise "write" 4. It will write the correct partition table 5. (you dont need to restart) run gparted or ubuntu installer 6. now all partitions are visible! -- gparted shows empty disk https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/96976 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
