[Bug 110095] Re: totem-mozilla not working in firefox 3 (minefield)

2007-04-25 Thread Petter Flensburg
Hi there!

As far as I know, Firefox 3 hasn't been released yet. Is there any
chance that you made a little typo?

If this bug may have a chance at beeing fixed, the following information is
needed:
What version of Ubuntu are you running? (6.06 Dapper, 6.10 Edgy...)
What version of totem-mozilla and totem are you running? You can check that in
Synaptic by searching for totem for example.

Are there any specific websites that doesn't work, or is it everywhere?
What goes wrong?

Thx

So you can paste the file using CTRL+V ?

If you change how the files are shown you'll be able to right click and
paste the file. Take a look at my attachment and try and change to that
view instead, and you'll see (even though I'm showing you that view with
konqueror, it works with nautilus too).

I think that if no one else is still having these problems I think we
should assume that it's fixed somehow, and close the bug. This bug was

So if anyone has something against this, shout out loud ;)

[Bug 490238] Re: Video Player does not show any video, but has audio, if connected to an external monitor (dual monitor setup)

2011-06-26 Thread Petter Flensburg
Hi everyone! Just a thought here, but I remember having similar problems a
couple of years ago, both on windows and ubuntu, and if I remember correctly,
the screen that you want to play movies in needs to be the primary screen(ie,
set the external screen as primary, and your laptop screen in this case, to
secondary).
Or you can, as browman said above, choose to use "mirror mode".

This is the same as in windows, so it's probably related to hardware
and/or graphics drivers.

I am not 100%, since it was a couple of years ago, but please go ahead
and test it!

[Bug 802305] [NEW] No sleep mode after fullscreen movie playback

2011-06-26 Thread Petter Flensburg
Public bug reported:

After a movie has finished playing in fullscreen, totem continues to
block the system from going into sleep mode. This is probably 'cause it
does not quit fullscreen mode after playback end. To ways to fix this:
either fix the fullscreen code, so that it stops stopping the system
from going into sleep mode when playback has stopped, or, like VLC -
quit fullscreen mode when playback ends, thus allowing system to go to
sleep.

It's my humble opinion that this is a serious flaw in totem - just think
of all that energy being consumed! The environmental impact of fixing
this bug enourmous.

I am using 10.04 and totem 2.30.2-0ubuntu1. I do not know if this has
been fixed in later releases of totem.

2011-07-21 Thread Petter Flensburg
Hi Pedro!

Thank you for your time and effort so far!

I have tried in natty and oneiric, however this time with dual monitors
and another graphics card(some computer however), using Unity(3d),
however problem persists. Also tried VLC in oneiric, but it seems to
exhibit the same bad behavior as totem, I'll file a separate bug for
VLC. to bad none of these two work with unity(vlc worked before with
gnome2 under lucid).

[Bug 814296] [NEW] no 3d acceleration anywhere

2011-07-21 Thread Petter Flensburg
Public bug reported:

Hi!

I started up unity-2d to see if I could get any extra FPS on EVE-Online,
compared to Unity-3d. However, I instead get no 3d acceleration at all.
Eve-online does not start, and glxgears is empty and spits out this in console:
Running synchronized to the vertical refresh. The framerate should be
approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate.
XIO: fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server ":0"
after 34 requests (34 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

However, glxinfo gives me this, still in unity-2d:
name of display: :0
display: :0 screen: 0
direct rendering: Yes
server glx vendor string: SGI
server glx version string: 1.4
[...]
client glx vendor string: Mesa Project and SGI
client glx version string: 1.4
[...]
GLX version: 1.4
[...]
OpenGL vendor string: X.Org
OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on AMD RV710
OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 7.11-devel
OpenGL shading language version string: 1.20

Now, just because I entered unity-2d, does this automatically mean that no 3d
should be supported!?!? This was not the case when ubuntu used gnome2.

PS. EVE-online works great on unity-3d(and the OSS drivers in oneiric),
part from the ships and stations being black(maybe this error wont be
there in unity-2d with 3d acceleration).

[Bug 803249] Re: Cannot launch "Steel Storm" from Dash

2011-07-21 Thread Petter Flensburg
Should anyone buying a game from USC have to manually add a ppa and
install development releases? The answer is: No. Either the bug exists
in unity-2d, and then it should be fixed - and no user should be forced
to install development files, which could break their system - or the
bug is somewhere else.

Florian, why do you assume that it's something wrong with unity? It
could be the package(steel storm)?

[Bug 814693] Re: Ubuntu 11.04 hangs up

2011-07-22 Thread Petter Flensburg
Hi Prabagaran!

Thank you for reporting this bug. Before the developers can do anything
about your problem, they probably need more information. Now, I am not
an expert, but I will try to help out here. My initial though is that
this could be a problem with powersave functions not working correctly
on your computer. You could test this either fast by changing the
settings, so that they will activate very soon, like 1 minute, then see
if your computer is working. Do this with every powersave setting, one
by one, and write down if they work or not. Now, the second way is to
disable all powersave functions, and if the problem is still there, we
know it is not related to these functions, however if it works - then we
know it is one of the powersave functions, and we need to do it the
previus way.

Whenever you have more information, please share them with us, and we
will do our best to find out what causes your problems, and hopefully we
will togheter be able to fix it.

Best wishes,
Petter

[Bug 814296] Re: no 3d acceleration anywhere

2011-07-28 Thread Petter Flensburg
As stated above, I am running EVE-online with Unity-3D, and it works
great :) Except for some stuff just being black(in the game), but
besides that, it's peachy :D

However, I wanted to try running EVE-online with unity-2d, just to see
if this error or whatever you want to call it, goes away. But then I
don't get any 3d accel :S

[Bug 836921] [NEW] Sound[HP Compaq dx2450 Microtower, Realtek ALC1200, Green Headphone Out, Front] Playback problem

2011-08-29 Thread Petter Flensburg
Public bug reported:

Hi everyone! Thank you for taking the time to help with this issue!

If I put headphones in the front, alsa sets the front output to 0(before
I put in headphones, everything looks fine in alsa), and I can't raise
the volume. If I restart pulseaudio(pulseaudio -k), sound comes back,
and this also shows when opening alsa.

I do not know if this is related to the fact that I also have HDMI
output on my graphics card. I do not remember if I had this issue before
I put it in, and this was also while using 11.10 alpha. If it helps, I
can test if the behavior persists if I take the graphics card out.
