[Bug 1247352] Re: GDM causes gnome-shell to crash when switching users
I tried, but I am not sure if I got anything useful. It seems that rather than crashing every time gnome-shell seems to stay in some weird state, where everything is just white. So, way to reproduce this: 1. Log in as User1 2. Select "Switch user" from menu 3. Log in as User2 4. Select "Switch user" again 5. The User1 gnome-shell (and most probably User2 too) have crashed. [Bug 1154214] [NEW] GDM opens up dozens of login sessions when switching users
Public bug reported: It seems that at the moment GDM opens a new login session everytime a user clicks "Login as another user" -option in the lock window. At the moment this seems to work unexpectedly as every single login session is left behind running and it will eventually cause problems as they eat up memory and cpu time. I asked this on irc, in #gdm and they did some investigative work which resulted to this patch in Debian to be the culprit: https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu- branches/ubuntu/raring/gdm/raring/view/head:/debian/patches/08_frequent- users_greeter.patch Here the login session is marked as X11, when it should be "LoginWindow". The rationale for that patch can be found here: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=624474 Please, fix this soon as it causes problems if GDM is in use in multiple user machines. ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1154214 Title: GDM opens up dozens of login sessions when switching users To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm/+bug/1154214/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 912798] Re: Gnome-shell crashes when trying to search for an application
Hi, Similar issue has been fixed earlier (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=666756) it seems that the version 2.34.1 of librsvg had caused problems, but upgrading to 2.35.1 did not. It can very well be a duplicate of that - I did not keep an eye on all of those updates.
