[Bug 1446199] Re: Ubuntu Aquaris E4.5 does not connect to Motorola S9-HD headset
In the meantime the headset had died so I had to buy a new one. Sadly Motorola does not manufacture these anymore so I bought another brand and that one is connecting as expected. So I cannot provide a feedback anymore and considering how old the headset is and how (not) popular it was, most probably no one can... I'd say close the bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1446199 Title: Ubuntu Aquaris E4.5 does not connect to Motorola S9-HD headset To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1446199/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1446199] [NEW] Ubuntu Aquaris E4.5 does not connect to Motorola S9-HD headset
Public bug reported: I'm unable to connect to my Motorola S9-HD headset. Pairing goes ok, dialog with four zeros pops up, but after that status led on the headset goes red (disconnected). And trying to manually click "Connect" causes system settings to hang for a minute or such. The log says this: WARNING - Could not "Connect" the interface "org.bluez.Audio" : "Method "Connect" with signature "" on interface "org.bluez.Audio" doesn't exist" Just to add. On my old Android (2.3) phone after pairing with the headsed, the device reacts quite similarly in that I was never able to connect at first time after pairing. I pair the device, it would go red, but then after I turn the headset off and on again it connects and works fine. Running from devel-proposed channel on Ubuntu Aquaris e4.5. Please let me know whether there are some more logs I should attach. ** Affects: ubuntu-system-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1446199 Title: Ubuntu Aquaris E4.5 does not connect to Motorola S9-HD headset To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-system-settings/+bug/1446199/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1446199] Re: Ubuntu Aquaris E4.5 does not connect to Motorola S9-HD headset
Thanks for looking into it! On my desktop the bluetooth is not working last two or three years:-( So I tried over ssh on the phone: Bluetooth enabled in system-settings, headset in search mode (awaiting pairing) ... root@ubuntu-phablet:/home/phablet# hcitool scan Scanning ... 00:0D:FD:33:65:03 Motorola S9-HD root@ubuntu-phablet:/home/phablet# bluez-simple-agent hci0 00:0D:FD:33:65:03 RequestPinCode (/org/bluez/827/hci0/dev_00_0D_FD_33_65_03) Enter PIN Code: Release New device (/org/bluez/827/hci0/dev_00_0D_FD_33_65_03) ... now the headset status led turns off and blinks red meaning not connected ... root@ubuntu-phablet:/home/phablet# bluez-test-audio connect 00:0D:FD:33:65:03 Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/bluez-test-audio", line 40, in audio.Connect() File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/dbus/proxies.py", line 70, in __call__ return self._proxy_method(*args, **keywords) File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/dbus/proxies.py", line 145, in __call__ **keywords) File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/dbus/connection.py", line 651, in call_blocking message, timeout) dbus.exceptions.DBusException: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "Connect" with signature "" on interface "org.bluez.Audio" doesn't exist ... I tried to switch the headset off and on again. Now it stays in search mode (not automatically connecting to the phone), but bluez-simple-agent hci0 00:0D:FD:33:65:03 gives me: Creating device failed: org.bluez.Error.AlreadyExists: Already Exists ... and bluez-test-audio connect 00:0D:FD:33:65:03 fails with identical error. I have never played with bluez before so I have no idea if these are the correct commands I should have tried ... let me know if I can provide anything else.
