[Bug 284379] [NEW] Patch to support cross-compilation
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: bootpc Here is a patch to support cross-compilation of the executable by using custom "strip" like custom compiler. This is needed to build the debian package e.g. for ARM. The program can be compiled for ARM with "make CC=arm-linux-gcc STRIP=arm-linux-strip" after this patch. Compilation will fail without this patch. ** Affects: bootpc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: arm cross-compilation makefile patch strip -- Patch to support cross-compilation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/284379 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 355675] [NEW] NTP not fully integrated
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools I tried to set-up my freshly installed Ubuntu 8.10 for synchronization with an internet based network time server. Therefore I opened "System > Management > Date and time" to get the "Time and date settings dialog". There I clicked to "unlock" to be able to alter configuration. After giving password I *tried* to changed configuration from "Manual" to "Keep in synch with network servers" but I was NOT successful: The system claimed that "NTP support" is not installed and has to be started. It kindly asked me if it should do so and I agreed (giving again my password). The dialogue did not report any error so I repeated the steps again. No chance: it still says that the "NTP support" is not installed. I tried to start NTP by doing "/etc/init.d/ntp start". Not available. I searched for packages containing the word "ntp": only "ntpdate" is listed. Bad, because /usr/share/doc/ntpdate/README.Debian says 'Note that ntpdate is *not* really intended to be used by hosts with good network connectivity. The "ntp" package, which provides a persistent daemon that does a better job of keeping system time than even a cron'ed invocation of ntpdate, is a better choice for systems with good network connectivity.' Where is this package 'ntp'? Why does /usr/bin/time-admin state that "NTP support" is not installed? How can I contribute to fix this bug? [Bug 464422] Re: package ttf-mscorefonts-installer 3.0 failed to install/upgrade
Thank you very much. Removing the timeout setting fixed it. Actually why did I encounter this problem? Why is the package still broken? It seems to be useless this setting. Maybe it saves a little time for users but it BREAKS installation for all the others. It seems straight forward to prevent other users from this really really annoying bug. [Bug 968308]
Freshly downloaded eclipse-standard-kepler-R-linux-gtk.tar.gz and unpacked it on Linux Mint 13. Installed AddOn pydev. "Switch to workbench" crashes Eclipse. Workaround to put "-Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.DefaultType=mozilla" at end of eclipse.ini worked for me. Any reason for not making Mozilla default for eclipse-standard-kepler-R -linux-gtk.tar.gz ?
