[Bug 987474] [NEW] Apps icon stays in the launcher if we interrupt the installation
Public bug reported: If it affects unity as well, than please mark it. How to reproduce: - Start installing anything from the software center with "new apps in launcher" enabled - After a while, interrupt the installation from the software center what should happen: the app's icon should disappear from the launcher what happens instead: the icon stays in the launcher, making the user think that it might have been installed even though they interrupted the installation On the attached screenshot you can see that geany is not installed on the computer, but it has an icon in the launcher as a result of this problem. Re: [Bug 788607] Re: gnome terminal hiding other windows and screensaver with dual screens
Also, as another workaround, I use Guake from now on. It hides, so it's good for me. And you can start searching for terminals that doesn't produce this (Xterm is one of them :)). Re: [Bug 908380] Re: [ipw2200] nm-applet crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message()
Another piece of information: Network Connections crashes if I try to edit a wireless network's config that has no wireless key set yet. I get an error message saying: (this is in Hungarian for me, so I'm not sure what's the original:) Error preparing the editor "No agents were available for this request." (This is in English). Now what does this mean? I don't seem to be able to connect to my wifi from terminal, either (with "sudo iwconfig eth1 essid SMC key s:). This can mean though that I'm using the worng command. 2012/3/12 Peter Spreij > Jools, and so we have gone full circle. What you experience was what I > experienced after which I sent a bug report. Re: [Bug 961459] Re: In multi-monitor mode, some files aren't visible on the desktop
They do get lost offscreen, even if I arrange icons by name. If I create some files with "right click -> Create new document -> [anything]", they are visible _unitl_ I arrange icons by name again. If I set the same resolution for both displays or "mirror" them, everything's fine. But if I change the external monitor's resolution to a greater value: 1.) all icons go to the laptop's monitor, even if they had been created on the external display; 2.) the icons go "upwards". It looks as if the icons thought that the laptop also had 1280x1024 resolution, though it has 1024x768 max. And there are more problems like these, I can write down all of them/maybe record it and upload the video or animgif somewhere, maybe the video is more easy to understand than my hungover english:) 2012/3/21 Michał Sawicz > Hey, can you right-click on the desktop and go "Asztal rendezése név > szerint"? > > My guess is that the other icons got lost offscreen. > > -- > You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug > report. > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/961459 > > Title: > In multi-monitor mode, some files aren't visible on the desktop > > To manage notifications about this bug go to: > > https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-2d/+bug/961459/+subscriptions > -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/961459 Title: In multi-monitor mode, some files aren't visible on the desktop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-2d/+bug/961459/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 931183] [NEW] Problem with similar commands in the 'Run command' window
Public bug reported: If a command's name is part of - and the beginning of - another command's name, the second gets executed if the user types the shorter in the Alt+F2 window. For example, I wrote a script that starts all my conkys, each with different config files. It's called "conkystart", and I copied it into /usr/bin. If I want to run "conky" as is, the conkystart command appears as a suggestion, but the conky command does not. I have to type "con" and then select the correct command to get only the basic conky running. [Bug 992717] [NEW] Opening files from the Dash randomly doesn't work
Public bug reported: My problem is really simple: if I click on a file in the dash (either an exact search result or a recent file), sometimes nothing happens. But in some cases, it works. I can't say that it has a problem with file types - for example, I can open a .jpeg file that's on my desktop, but neither can I open a .JPG that's in my pictures folder, nor one that's on an external HDD, nor one that's _also_ on the desktop. This problem doesn't come up when using 3D unity. If needed, I can try a live cd/fresh install, but my network connection is really slow so I would only do that if that's the only solution. [Bug 1172628] [NEW] Unity sometimes freezes after wake up from suspend
Public bug reported: I couldn't find anything that can cause this, it is completely occasional. I use Ubuntu 12.04.2 64bit. Sometimes if I open my laptop's lid to wake it up from suspend, my whole desktop freezes. I'm reporting this to unity because with any other DE it doesn't happen (not even with unity-2d). In my case, after waking up from suspend, I can see the screen's lats state for like a second, with a notification saying "disconnected from network", but in normal cases, that notification disappears and then everything starts to work, for example nm-applet connects to the wifi-network again etc. But in some cases, the desktop freezes with that first notification on it. Sometimes I cannot even switch to tty1. But when I can, an "export DISPLAY=:0; unity --replace" doesn't help, only a sudo restart lightdm 'solves' the issue. No matter what kernel I boot (3.2 or 3.5), this happens sometimes. Sorry if it turns out that this is not related to unity, but that would be my best guess. Thank you in advance! Precise here and loads of error messages. Yes this is a duplicate. [Bug 908380] Re: [ipw2200] nm-applet crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message()
Hi, So it seems that my problem I submitted another bug about is not this problem though it has been marked as a duplicate. I'm not 100% sure though. I tried to connect to a secured wifi during install, and nm-applet crashed, but that network was remembered and set to autoconnect. Every time I tried to launch nm-applet, it crashed when it was about to ask for the password. So I opened 'network connections' from the dash, and deleted all the remembered wifi networks and added mine with data from the iwlist eth1 s command's output. No I'm connected to the network and nm-applet runs, though it crashes when I select another secured wifi to connect to. Also, it doesn't show the signal quality (it looks as if there was no signal), and it doesn't show which network I'm connected to, it just shows 'disconnect' under wifi connections from what I know that I'm connected to something. Also, I cannot select any networks to connect to (see the attached screenshot). ...And now, after selecting another network to connect to, I'm again unable to use wifi, though nm-applet runs. Sorry for writing such a long comment, hope it helps :) If the problem described above is not related to this bug, I will open another bug. Thank you in advance. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot showing nm-applet's menu (my network is SMC)" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-applet/+bug/908380/+attachment/2841369/+files/Screenshot%20from%202012-03-09%2019%3A46%3A53.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/908380 Title: [ipw2200] nm-applet crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/908380/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 957529] Re: It's possible to disable the Unity Plugin from it's preferences window
Ok, so if this was meant to be like this, then mark this bug as invalid. Although I think the checkbox in the preferences window should behave as the one in the main window, because the users who want to kill unity when running unity session are very likely to be able to do that from the terminal. 2012. március 17. 22:13 Launchpad Bug Tracker írta, < 957...@bugs.launchpad.net>: > Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users. > > ** Changed in: compizconfig-settings-manager (Ubuntu) > Status: New => Confirmed > > -- > You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug > report. > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/957529 > > Title: > It's possible to disable the Unity Plugin from it's preferences window > > To manage notifications about this bug go to: > > https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compizconfig-settings-manager/+bug/957529/+subscriptions > -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/957529 Title: It's possible to disable the Unity Plugin from it's preferences window To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compizconfig-settings-manager/+bug/957529/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 757727] Re: Zeitgeist-daemon memory usage skyrockets after dash search
For me, removing the .local/share/zeitgeist directory doesn't work, zeitgeist-fts now uses around 90 MB of memory even though I deleted that direcotry (It seems to recreate it) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/757727 Title: Zeitgeist-daemon memory usage skyrockets after dash search To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/zeitgeist-extensions/+bug/757727/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 878998] [NEW] Desktop wall switches desktop if I click on two different workspaces (once on each) quickly after each other
Public bug reported: I don't know if this was meant to be like this, but if I click on two different workspaces quickly after each other, desktop wall detects it as a double click, and switches to the last desktop I clicked. I think it should only change if I click on one desktop twice. [Bug 781239] [NEW] Nautilus sometimes chrases when I click on "Burn to disk" in the right-click menu of a .iso image
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Sometimes, when I try to burn a .iso image to disk (right click on image - burn to disc...), it causes nautilus to crash. In other cases, it just works fine. I'm using Ubuntu Natty 11.04. Nautilus is the 1:2.32.2.1-0ubuntu13 version as far as I know ('apt-cache policy nautilus' gives this). Hope I could help!
