[Bug 373545] [NEW] Volume controls ineffective for all devices
Public bug reported: The panel volume control and the volume/mute keys on the keyboard have no effect. I have tried all available devices in System->Preferences->Sound and those available by right-clicking the panel volume control. None have any effect. Alsamixer also has no effect. Pulseaudio's volume controls have no effect. gnome-alsa-mixer shows 3 "USB mixer" tabs. The middle one has sliders for 2 PCMs, CD, Mic, and 2 Speakers. The 2nd Speaker slider does work. The applications' internal volume controls work. Ubuntu version 9.04 pulseaudio 1:0.9.14-0ubuntu20 gnome-volume-manager 2.24.0-0ubuntu1 There is no obvious documentation about how sound applications fit together. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Volume controls ineffective for all devices https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/373545 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 120788] Re: gnome-keyboard-properties does not handle 2 different keyboard models
As for reproducing it, the keyboard preferences dialogue still gives me only one choice of keyboard model, whereas I have 2 keyboards of different models, so I still have a problem. When the 105 character UK keyboard model is selected, which is the normal case, the French <> key produces \|. I am running Ubuntu Hardy Heron. I attach a file containing the data you requested; I have also included the USB data about the two keyboards. ** Attachment added: "lspci -vnn output; lsusb -v output (partial); Xorg.0.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18447075/lspci -- gnome-keyboard-properties does not handle 2 different keyboard models https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/120788 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 291986] [NEW] DVD navigation no longer works
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem After release upgrade to Ubuntu 8.10, the Go menu no longer works. [Bug 291986] Re: DVD navigation no longer works
I'm using totem-gstreamer; I tried totem-xine and it does indeed work. Thanks for the hint. Of course, this does raise the question of why totem-gstreamer is included at all, if totem-xine works and totem-gstreamer doesn't? -- DVD navigation no longer works https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/291986 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 107748] Re: Evolution hangs temporarily, for periods of up to 5 or 10 minutes, since late in the Feisty development cycle
I also have a problem with Evolution becoming unresponsive for 20-30 seconds but only on one of two machines. The machine on which it occurs is running Feisty on a 64 bit dual core processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3600+ This is a new install of Feisty The other machine is a 32 bit processor: AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 2800+ which was upgraded to Feisty from Edgy. On the machine where it hangs, evolution is taking up to 101% CPU and 9.6% of memory. My evolution account uses a number of folders, some nested, and filters to put mail in them automatically. If you want debugging information, please let me know what would be helpful. -- Evolution hangs temporarily, for periods of up to 5 or 10 minutes, since late in the Feisty development cycle https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/107748 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

My IMAP is Cyrus on a Debian machine (Etch). I'm not running Scalix at all. Until my machine died a week ago I was running i686 Debian unstable with the latest Evolution, and I had no problems with that. I can cause the problem by clicking Send/Receive. In the log on the server, I see it open all the folders within 1 second. After that there seems to be a pause of up to 2 minutes. Then communication resumes. It works except that the <> key (to the left of W on a French keyboard) is not mapped correctly but produces \| like a British keyboard. I use the French one when writing text in French - it's much easier to produce the accented letters. The problem is that the French keyboard has only 104 keys and the English one has 105. [Bug 120788] gnome-keyboard-properties does not handle 2 different keyboard models
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center The gnome-keyboard-properties dialog allows me to define only 1 keyboard model; instead the model ought to be specific to each layout. I have an English keyboard (Logitech Internet Navigator Keyboard with 105 keys) and also a French one (AZERTY with 104 keys). I cannot properly define the French one because I cannot select an appropriate keyboard model for it without disrupting the definition of the English keyboard. I can only define a single model system-wide. ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- gnome-keyboard-properties does not handle 2 different keyboard models https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/120788 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Not as such. I recently had to reinstall Lucid after previously upgrading to it. Sound now seems to work, although the system guessed wrong about which channels to assign as input and output. The current problem is that the Preferences->Sound dialog seems to grab resources; it takes minutes to respond to any click and slows down response times of other windows too. I am not yet aware of any detailed documentation on sound in Ubuntu. -- Volume controls ineffective for all devices https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/373545 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
