[Bug 1211399] [NEW] Shotwell 14 does not start on Ubuntu 12.04.2

2013-08-12 Thread New Ubunty
Public bug reported:

Shotwell 14 does not start (crashes on start) on Ubuntu 12.04.2

Fresh installation of Ubuntu 12.04.2 64-bit (Intel Ivy-Bridge with HD4000), the
added Yorba Shotwell ppa, upgraded the Shotwell to version 14. First, Shotwell
started fine first time, during the import of all photos from the Picture
folder (large folder ~ 100 Gb) it crashed and now it does not start anymore, I
think it crashes right on start. The Shotwell worked fine before a OS
reinstallation (I had 12.04.1). I tried this suggestion from one of the
websites that reported similar problems
“sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libgexiv2.so.2 /usr/lib/libgexiv2.so.1”, it didn't help. I
removed shotwell using the software center and installed it again, no luck.
When I start from the terminal I get this message:

~$ shotwell
L 2710 2013-08-12 08:59:52 [CRT] DatabaseTable.vala:356: Unable to retrieve row
count on PhotoTable: (11) database disk image is malformed

** (shotwell:2710): ERROR **: DatabaseTable.vala:92: get_event_source_ids: [11]

Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)

This is what the debugger outputs:

~$ gdb shotwell

[Bug 1098044] [NEW] Launcher tooltips not properly displayed

2013-01-09 Thread New Ubunty
Public bug reported:

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit on a new desktop computer Intel Core
i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz × 4 with Intel HD Graphics 4000. When I right-
click on on a launcher for the first time, the tooltip is not displayed
properly - see attached picture. I've had a similar problem with the
tooltips not being displayed at all (Bug #1034164
https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1034164). This bug was fixed after
an update in October, but I still have this issue with the tooltips.

Since it is similar to this bug Bug #1034164, the source package is
unity I guess.

** Package changed: ubuntu => unity (Ubuntu)

[Bug 365300] Re: Randomly I get double clicks when I do a single click.

2012-12-17 Thread New Ubunty
Same problem started on my system (ubuntu 12.04) few weeks ago (again).
I used to have several different mice, one Logitec, and Logitec was
definitively having issues with double-clicks. Now I'm using a generic
(GearHead) wired USB mouse, and I started experiencing double-clicks
again, randomly. I have a Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit, relatively new PC from
System76. So is it Ubuntu or the mouse? Should I get (another) new
mouse, I keep buying new mice every 2-3 months, and I'n not even using
them that much.

[Bug 1034164] Re: [SRU Regression] Unity 5.14 + Nux 2.14: Launcher tooltips are incomplete/missing

2012-09-03 Thread New Ubunty
I can confirm this bug (launcher tooltips are incomplete or missing and
I can see a small black triangle over the icon, and labels get randomly
choppy or don't render properly). I started seeing this bug about 1
month ago on one brand new desktop and two netbooks I have, all with
Intel graphics and Ubuntu 12.04, Kernel 3.2.0-29-generic, Unity version
5.14.0.

[Bug 999910] Re: [IVB]12.04 64 bit System freezes (mouse, keyboard)

2012-07-21 Thread New Ubunty
Have the same problem - system freezes completely, only way out is a hard
reboot :(
It's random, often while doing Shotwell, sometime Google Earth, few times even
while ejecting a SD drive! I also had a few random warnings that Compiz crashed
(maybe related ?!).

Here are my specs:
Brand new Desktop from System76
Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64 bit
Kernel: 3.2.0-26-generic
3rd Generation Intel Core i5 3570K ( 3.40GHz - 6MB cache - 4 Cores - HD
Graphics 4000 )
8 GB DDR3 - 1600 MHz
2 Tb HDD
