This was reported in May of 2012, almost 2 year ago...Why is not even
assigned? It's still an issue!

Re: [Bug 1049645] Re: missing option to disable gnome-shell lock screen shield

2014-09-26 Thread Naviathan
This is ridiculous, the problem is I don't have the option to remove this
stupid shield. I don't want it. I don't lock the screen on my home
workstation, I don't see a need for it. When I wake my machine up I want
the desktop, not a shield.

[Bug 891115] Re: megasas driver - device goes to offline

2011-12-28 Thread Naviathan
This is not related to Xen. I'm running a small file server at home
with Ubuntu Server 11.10 and an LSI MegaRAID 8480E controller and I've
been getting the same errors and the card going offline randomly. Aside
from the listed output above from syslog there's no errors or logs that
can be taken of this problem.

I have a theory I'm testing that it might be heat related. It's
happened to me 3 times and the last two times it happened the heat sink
on the controller was burning hot. I've applied new compound and added
a small fan to it. I'll post back my results, it may take a couple days
to fully test.

[Bug 891115] Re: megasas driver - device goes to offline

2011-12-29 Thread Naviathan
I think this boils down to heat issues. So far I've been going strong
with no drop outs after applying some fresh heat sink compound and
adding a small fan to the heat sink. To the OP Kari, check your
thermals.
