[Bug 1663060] Re: Add a title field to snap metadata
Hi Robert, Would you mind clarifying for me the difference between this bug and LP #169? As per the bug I linked, and the email thread conversation with subject "Package metadata: title, description and tagline" (sorry for the public in general but that happened in an internal mailing list), the agreement was that gnome-software should always use the title value from the snap data and in a future the snap.yaml would allow for that title to be defined in the file itself. Relevant piece of emails: * Natalia: So I would like to have a "title" or "verbose name" for the package name being provided from the yaml file. What shall we do to move forward with this? * Gustavo: Yes, it sounds fine to have a title there (prefer that over display name or verbose name for being a single noun), but can we not do it just yet? Right now the publisher of a snap can edit the title via the developer portal website, as a workaround until snap.yaml supports the new title field. I think we should close this bug as duplicate of LP: #169. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1663060 Title: Add a title field to snap metadata To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/developer-portal/+bug/1663060/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1555569] Re: [snaps] Show human-readable names for store apps
Hello all, Let me share the current state about title, summary and description fields. Currently, the store API exposes these fields for each snap (among others): package_name -> the "technical" package name, such as generic-amd64 (not-editable, but could change due to name disputes or similar) name -> fully qualified name of a package, such as "generic-amd64.canonical" (not-editable, same remark as before) summary -> the package summary, matches the summary field in the snap.yaml file (editable from Store UI) description -> the package description, matches the description field in the snap.yaml file (editable from Store UI) title -> the human readable string for a package, initially is filled with the snap name, but can be edited from the Store UI There is a pending improvement from snappy so the title is also required in the snap.yaml, once that is done, the store will use that to populate the title field. For current examples: https://search.apps.ubuntu.com/api/v1/package/generic-amd64 https://search.apps.ubuntu.com/api/v1/package/bar So specifically to this bug report, I think the Gnome Software should always use the 'title' property from the Store results as the human readable string to show to the user. ** Changed in: software-center-agent Status: Triaged => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/169 Title: [snaps] Show human-readable names for store apps To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/click-reviewers-tools/+bug/169/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 986191] Re: Dash is always empty
Michael, I can confirm that removing the ZG databases and re-logging in fixed the issue, though I'm worried that accessing the ZG db is a mandatory requirement for the dash to show something. Wouldn't it be better to show an application list (at least) despite ZG access not being completed successfully? [Bug 934270] [NEW] We need to drop the current GTK+ UI in favor of the Qt UI
Public bug reported: The current Ubuntu One control panel that is shipped by default in Ubuntu is a GTK+ UI which the Ubuntu One team is no longer supporting. [Bug 1413665] Re: Bad Request - Bad bot, go away! Request aborted.
Hello all! I've tested all reported browsers, and they work for me. Please note that the error you are getting with the "Bad bot" means that the form submission process received more fields that those visible to the end user, thus indicating that the form was likely submitted by an automatic script that is filling more fields than what it should. One more questions to keep debugging further: * Do you use any password vault extension? LastPass or similar. [Bug 1413665] Re: Bad Request - Bad bot, go away! Request aborted.
Hello John! An extension for autofill will definitely cause this issue, since this measure aims specifically at avoiding non-human filling out the form. Could you please remove the extension and retry? Or ensure the extension do not fill anything automatically for login.ubuntu.com? (the same mechanism for avoiding bots is present in every form).
