[Bug 237429] Re: ubuntu 8.10 fast user switching sound

2008-08-07 Thread Mr. Bunny
Confirming. I'm having this problem as well. I haven't had any crashes
with it, but fast switching can and does cause repeating login prompt
noises as you described. If I recall correctly, restarting the X server
fixes the problem. (Ctrl-alt-backspace or sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart)

[Bug 149393] Re: applet.py crashed with TypeError in __cmp__()

2008-05-11 Thread Mr. Bunny
Confirming. I'm running an HP DeskJet 952C with the hpijs driver from
here: http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=HP-
DeskJet_952C

This is on a Hardy system that was just upgraded from Gutsy. It just
rebooted. I was taken here by the crash reporter applet but I don't know
where whatever information it collected was stored, or indeed even if it
was stored, and it doesn't seem to be attached.

[Bug 501950] Re: Randomly missing harddrive on reboot : dmesg -> "model number mismatch"

2010-06-18 Thread Mr. Bunny
My optical drive is disappearing, and it seems to be persistent. This is
on Ubuntu Karmic 9.04 2.6.31-21-generic #59-Ubuntu SMP Wed Mar 24
07:28:56 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux.

Relevant dmesg lines appear to be
ata2.01: model number mismatch 'SAMSUNG CD-R/RW SW-252S' != 'SAMSUNG CD-R/RW
SW-252S !'
ata2.01: revalidation failsed (errno=-19)

The other optical drive is correctly recognized. Please let me know if I
could help by providing additional information or testing.
