[Bug 1051402] [NEW] keybindings using the Super key stopped working in 12.04
Public bug reported: 12.04 suffers from a keybinding regression (both in media-keys plugin and custom commands) I realise some of the bindings are used by Unity (like Super+A/D/F/N/S/W... ) The problem is other keys stop working _after some time_: it seems that Super loses it's modifier function, i. e., pressing Super+C is the same as just pressing 'C' – it starts the type-to-search function on some dialogs. Interestingly, some bindings seem not to be affected at all (Super+R). Key-bindings *do* work when an additional modifier is used (e.g. Shift+Super+C). Tried setting the bindings with both gnome-control-center and dconf- editor. Using an updated Ubuntu 12.04 64bit with Unity and vanilla drivers from nvidia.com gnome-settings-daemon: 3.4.2-0ubuntu0 Apologies if this is the wrong package... ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: gnome keybindings super unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1051402 Title: keybindings using the Super key stopped working in 12.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1051402/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 745996] Re: All unity windows are invisible (panel, launcher, dash)
I ran into this one as well with oneiric live cd (i386) on my old desktop running nvidia gf fx5600. The live cd installer loads and looks ok but after chosing to test ubuntu from cd instead, unity loads and everything goes haywire. Only the top right indicators, window title on the top left and the sidebar shadow are visible. If I hover over the (what should be) sidebar launchers their titles are displayed with a tooltip. Windows and controls are there, cand be interacted with but are invisible. Installer is unusable as well. Both Ubuntu and Ubuntu 2D sessions affected. No .drirc in sight (again, it's the official live cd) If you choose to install right away instead, all goes well. Since I chose to install updates and 3rd party software, nvidia-96 was installed and the problem disappeared at first boot. Changing to nvidia-173-updates introduced no problems as far as I can tell. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/745996 Title: All unity windows are invisible (panel, launcher, dash) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/745996/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
