[Bug 152187] Serial Wacom tablet fails to return from ACPI suspend to RAM

2007-10-12 Thread Michael Heath
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.22

On a Toshiba M200 Tablet PC, the integrated serial-line Wacom tablet
interface locks up under the 2.6.22 kernel on Gutsy when returning from
a suspend or hibernate.

I have verified that the serial settings the device file (ttyS0) are
exactly as they were before reboot; the interface is mapped to the same
location, same IRQ, and uart. The /sys filesystem reports in it's pnp
information that the device is at the same location as it was before
suspend. However, attempting to access the /dev/ttyS0 device causes the
kernel to return a LSR Safety Check Engaged message.

[Bug 152170] Re: Compiz Fails to Start with some NVidia proprietary driver configurations

2007-10-13 Thread Michael Heath
The card has 64MB onboard RAM, and more shared available. Sorry I didn't
mention that at first. How is this too little RAM? It appears this
script is erroneously erroring out.

I've had people report that Compiz works fine on cards with no
significant onboard memory - how is a hard limit advisable?

[Bug 152187] Re: Serial Wacom tablet fails to return from ACPI suspend to RAM

2008-02-07 Thread Michael Heath
Vincenzo:

That is not the way the Kernel's bugzilla is maintained/moderated. It
being marked as resolved there does not mean the patch has hit upstream,
and indeed it has not. As such, this patch is not included in the Ubuntu
kernel builds.

[Bug 152187] Re: Serial Wacom tablet fails to return from ACPI suspend to RAM

2007-12-20 Thread Michael Heath
Tom,

I don't want to get sidetracked from the bug at hand, but...
In reference to the need to create the /dev/input/wacom symlink...Does your
hardy system have a /etc/init.d/xserver-xorg-input-wacom ? This is the init
script that automatically sets up this symlink on Gutsy. If you're missing it,
do yuo have the package xserver-xorg-input-wacom installed?

In reference to your kernel bug reporting protocolyou can't assign
the bug or change its status unless your a moderator on the kernel bug
system. I'm not sure what the best thing to do would be. I'll add a
comment, see if we can generate some more attention. Maybe send an
e-mail to the kernel mailing list?

[Bug 62626] Random synaptics mouse input lockups

2006-09-27 Thread Michael Heath
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

When using a synaptics touchpad, input will spontaneously lock up. I am
not able to click on anything on the screen except for sometimes a
random, arbitrary object on the screen (IE, one scrollbar will work, or
I am able to click and focus on one textbox). Usually after I operate
this one object, turn focus to it, etc. the input system will unlock but
immediately lock again as soon as I click on something else. Often the
one object that I'm trying to access isn't consistent with the focus
model; IE, the one object will be in a window underneath the top window
and clicking on the object doesn't bring that window to focus.

This effects all mice, but problems seem to occur when the synaptics
touchpad is bumped in a minor way. Simply touching the touchpad
accidentally (while typing) can also lead the mouse pointer to jump
across the screen and latch onto the top gnome toolbar as if you meant
to drag it to another position on the screen.

[Bug 427245] Re: Textcolor of window title not customizable

2009-10-28 Thread Michael Heath
I went ahead and marked this as Invalid. The submitter's question is in
relation to a theme that I put together for 9.04's Ubuntu Netbook Remix.
It was never designed to be compatible in any way with the window-
picker-applet in 9.10. Sorry for the hassle and silly report; I went
ahead and posted on the theme's site that this is NOT supposed to work
with 9.10.

[Bug 1200954] Re: Flumotion does not start: AttributeError: 'EPollReactor' object has no attribute 'listenWith'

2013-09-24 Thread Michael Heath
I ugraded to 13.04 and because of this bug, I had to move back to "Release
12.10 (quantal) 64-bit" on my on-demand video server.
I found this problem right when 13.04 was released!
I just now found this bug, and tested this again -- the log produced by running
"cat /var/log/flumotion/service.log" was identical to what is reported above
..
--> This software is very simple to use and configure -- however, it is very
sophisticated in the video formats and methods it implements to the end user!
It was refeshing in how easy it was to inplement of on-demand streaming or a
web cam!
-- > please bump this up in priority -- Importance: "Undecided" is not good
enough!!
..
If I can help to debug this please advise on what you need Thanks.

[Bug 1200954] Re: Flumotion does not start: AttributeError: 'EPollReactor' object has no attribute 'listenWith'

2015-01-17 Thread Michael Heath
This workaround worked on 14.10! -- finally!!-->
http://www.serenux.com/2014/08/howto-install-flumotion-streaming-server-on-ubuntu-14-04/
(This update in the bug (e.g 2014-11-28) was so close - Thanks Thomas for
trying to help.)

--> As this page states:
"This issue will be resolved once Flumotion is updated to no longer use the
deprecated network-related functions in Twisted Python." -- OhYeah, sure: have
been waiting for that since 13.04 - I think flumotion is deprecated, and open
source now, and no one is updating the code found in the Ubuntu repositories :(

--> Warning: Ubuntu Software updater is broken after this however! --
So, as the page states: "I would recommend that you dedicate a PC to be
used as your Flumotion server so you don’t have to install other
applications or regularly have to perform updates."

[Bug 1200954] Re: Flumotion does not start: AttributeError: 'EPollReactor' object has no attribute 'listenWith'

2014-12-06 Thread Michael Heath
I tested the above patch on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS--

a) I used the "Ubuntu Software Center" to install the Flumotion.
b) When I tried to setup a ondemand stream, it failed as documented in this
bug. (e.g. start a new manager and connect to it)
c) then I applied the patch at
http://lists.fluendo.com/pipermail/flumotion-devel/2014-January/000698.html
d) Now, I can:
--> Start a new manager and connect to it
--> I click the connect button, and get to the flumotion configuration
assistant, click forward
--> select the create ondemand stream radio button, click forward
--> fill out my usual settings on the ondemand stream dialog, click forward,
click finish

The porter-http component starts no problem with a smiley face.

The http-server-ondemand component fails with a sad face with a tear.
(haha!)

Here is the error
--
The component could not be started.
Posted on Sat 06 Dec 2014 09:43:08 PM EST.
Debug information:
failure flumotion.common.errors.ComponentCreateError: module
flumotion.component.misc.httpserver.httpserver could not be imported (exception
ImportError at flumotion/common/package.py:54: import_module(): cannot import
name md5)

So close, but no cigar!
Thanks.
(Note: if anyone can help with that one I would be grateful, and I can move
from Ubuntu 12.04 to the latest!!!)
