[Bug 292926] [NEW] Mouse/Touchpad Clicking Sticking

2008-11-02 Thread Michael Braun
Public bug reported:

Upgraded from 8.04 to 8.10 and found that the clicking of the mouse or
touchpad (this is a laptop) no longer works. If I boot into Gnome and
click Applications, it stays highlighted. If I try to click and hold a
window to drag it around, nothing happens. Really don't want to have to
reformat. Any ideas? I also have a hardware error when booting into the
new kernel (not with the old one), but I'm not sure how to get it
offhand. If someone could tell me where the kernel log would be, that
would help. Might be related. This problem does not happen when I'm in
the 8.04 kernel, only the 8.10 kernel.

I then reformatted and installed 8.10 from scratch. The problem took
longer to appear, but it consistently appears.

[Bug 226165] Re: bookmarks are gone, I can not add bookmarks or import bookmarks backup, the toolbar does not work, the buttons back, then update are broken, the bar gives direction errors

2008-05-04 Thread Michael Braun
I had the exact same problem. It turns out my /home partition was full,
so it couldn't write more data! However, it didn't tell me until I ran
the profile manager and it couldn't write a new profile. Check your disk
space. Perhaps firefox should be displaying a "can't save settings,
clear files I'm out of disk space" alert.
