The code in question has been replaced by completely different code which uses libhal now instead of libsysfs. I suggest closing the bug as obsoleted by libchipcard 4.2.8-1ubuntu1. As far I can see this bug can only occur under very rare conditions. So I'm unable to reproduce it. However, if really needed the appended patch might be used to fix the occurred segmentation fault. It skips a code block if an error occurred when fetching sysfs device attributes. ** Attachment added: "Bugfix for LP: #286115" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/27959636/LP_bugfix_286115.patch -- chipcardd4 crashed with SIGSEGV in dlist_start() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/286115 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 277412] Re: chipcardd4 uses lots of cpu
I believe there is no real patch for specifically this problem as trigger based hardware scan should work for a long time now. Simply set hardwareScanInterval=0 in the config file and add a udev trigger script (like the one from Debian) and you're done. The introduction of the udev trigger script in the Debian package was in SVN commit r944: http://svn.debian.org/viewsvn/aqbanking?view=rev&revision=944 (but beware: possibly not complete). With opening the bug task for Jaunty I tried to get more attention for this bug in the hope to get a fix in the package before the release of Jaunty. [Bug 320454] Re: error -103 in kmymoney reading a chipcard (SCM SCR335 not supported)
Hi, some months ago you wrote: > how it is possble to access lipchicard-tools? When installed the package libchipcard-tools, simply execute the command "chipcard-tool list" in a shell (terminal mode). Libchipcard should be able to handle your device (SCM SCR335) if used in PC/SC interface mode. It is supported by pcscd: http://pcsclite.alioth.debian.org/supported.html#0x04E60x5115 To make use of your reader you have to install pcscd and follow the pcscd instructions to get your reader working. Afterwards edit the file /etc/chipcard/client/chipcardc.conf and insert the following line near the top: char resmgr="pcsc" Afterwards you should be able to get your chipcard reader running with chipcard-tools and other applications making use of libchipcard. [Bug 341216] Re: guile 1.8 install breaks gnucash
Probably Gnucash should switch entirely to Guile 1.8, but this requires some changes: It is possible to build Gnucash against Guile 1.8 with following changes to the gnucash package: 1.) Change build-dep on guile-1.6-dev to guile-1.8-dev 2.) Drop build-dep on guile-1.8-slib because it's not available (see comment below) 3.) Drop dependency on guile-1.6-slib from package gnucash (should be guile-1.8-slib, but that is not available, see comment below) 4a) ship a symbolic link /usr/share/guile/1.8/ pointing to ../../slib 4b) run the following command from postinst script: guile-1.8 -c "(use-modules (ice-9 slib)) (require 'new-catalog)" 4c) remove the symbolic links created by the postinst script in prerm script: rm -f /usr/share/guile/1.8/slib rm -f /usr/share/guile/1.8/slibcat 5.) Remove GUILE=/usr/bin/guile-1.6 from build environment (otherwise fails to build if guile-1.6 isn't installed) A cleaner solution for steps 2 to 4 would be to provide a proper package guile-1.8-slib (see Debian bug http://bugs.debian.org/441110) which is doing these steps. ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #441110 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=441110 -- guile 1.8 install breaks gnucash https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/341216 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Are you still interested in fixing the bug? This version of libchipcard should do event-based hardware device detection by default. [Bug 551172] Re: libchipcard uses obsolete udev rules
This is fixed already in the Debian package version 4.2.9-2. Someone should prepare a sync with Debian I guess... ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #563086 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=563086 ** Also affects: libchipcard (Debian) via http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=563086 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- libchipcard uses obsolete udev rules https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/551172 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 589920] Re: Sync libchipcard 4.2.9-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)
Syncing would loose all Ubuntu specific (mostly udev related) changes, wouldn't it? -- Sync libchipcard 4.2.9-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/589920 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 589920] Re: Sync libchipcard 4.2.9-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)
Regarding old udev versions: Granted. But what's about the other changes? For instance the configuration file /etc/udev/rules.d /40_libchipcard-tools.rules was only available in Ubuntu versions of this package. The maintainer scripts I wrote for Debian will not take care of these. Additionally in the past the Ubuntu packages had some initscript renumberings, that the maintainer scripts need to take care of. I would prefer if Ubuntu would NOT sync the package with Debian now. Instead Ubuntu should wait until libchipcard 5 (currently available in Debian experimental) is in Debian unstable. This version does not need a daemon at all any more, so all changes and bugs related to libchipcard's initscript or udev rules would be solved at once and forever. -- Sync libchipcard 4.2.9-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/589920 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 521217] Re: Merge gnucash 2.2.9-3 from debian sid
Hi Ilya, I've already tried the patch, and indeed it fixes the build problems with libgoffice-0-8 on Debian sid too. I will upload gnucash 2.2.9-4 in a minute. Jean-Louis, maybe you want to wait until that version is in the Debian archive and base the merge request on that version. -- Merge gnucash 2.2.9-3 from debian sid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/521217 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
