I've encountered it more than 7 times (today 3 times). First time it happend while moving my /home (4GB) to /mnt/Data, I had to reset the computer and lost some data (not very important thankfully). Today I've tried to clean the pbuilder enviroment with "ARCH=amd64 DIST=jaunty sudo pbuilder --clean" and after restarting my .kde directory was gone. It seems the freeze occurs when moving or deleting big portions of data. Anyone else can confirm it? [Bug 694825] [NEW] ata_bmdma crashing at random(?)
Public bug reported: Description:Ubuntu natty (development branch) Release:11.04 Linux nightwalker 2.6.37-11-generic #25-Ubuntu SMP Tue Dec 21 23:42:56 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux At the beginning of December I started experiencing random freezes and overall poor performance to the point when running any application took at least 10 seconds. Writing anything bigger than 5Mb to the HDD was next to impossible. The only solution was to restart the PC but it would happen sooner or later after the reboot. I have tried different things and waited for some updates to the kernel but nothing helped. [Bug 1452408] Re: kde-config-systemd doesn't work
I have determined that the problem lies in either the search path or the install path. Running `kcmshell5 kcm_systemd` yields Error loading plugin "kcm_systemd" "The shared library was not found." Plugin search paths are ("/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins", "/usr/bin") The environment variable QT_PLUGIN_PATH might be not correctly set and a simple dpkg -L kde-config-systemd says that the path to kcm_systemd is /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/plugins/kcm_systemd.so so that's obviously not going to work. Now I just need to determine if we should change the install path or modify the search path. ** Changed in: kde-config-systemd (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: kde-config-systemd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1452408 Title: kde-config-systemd doesn't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde-config-systemd/+bug/1452408/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
