@auspex the bug is almost one month old and still "unassigned", a workaround as suggested by @avishay is more than welcome to make my laptop usable instead of relying on my phone hotspot. Having the same issue on Kubuntu 16.04 while connecting to a regular PEAP, MSCHAPv2 wifi network.
