[Bug 229660] [NEW] under nfs mount options, kilobyte shorthand is not parsed

2008-05-12 Thread Matthew S
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nfs-common

I try:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/# mount -o
rw,nosuid,nodev,noatime,hard,intr,rsize=32k,wsize=32k,addr=10.0.0.18
xxx:/r1/home/user /home/user
mount.nfs: an incorrect mount option was specified

from syslog:
syslog:May 12 17:49:04 devo kernel: [ 3322.067038] NFS: unknown mount option:
rsize=32k

Testing with no shorthand:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/# mount -o
rw,nosuid,nodev,noatime,hard,intr,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,addr=10.0.0.18
britney:/r1/home/msilvey /home/msilvey
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/#

It would be nice to have the shorthand for kilobytes be understood.

I do not have an AGP system, it is a PCI Express card.

[Bug 366224] Re: [M7-LW] Rendering artifact on text in firefox and gedit

2009-07-23 Thread Matthew S
I can not only confirm this (IBM (now Lenovo) ThinkPad T60 with a Radeon
Mobility x1400), but say that it's not restricted to any one program,
theme, or even desktop environment. Firefox, Thunderbird, GIMP,
Nautilus, and even the desktop environment itself in certain
circumstances (dragging out a selection box, for example) all render
minor artifacts.

KDE seems to be affected worse than GNOME - check boxes, radio buttons,
and push buttons can be partially hidden behind artifacts. Sometimes an
entire text box (a URL bar or the like) or row of icons will be
completely obscured by garbage until forced to refresh (selecting,
typing, etc.).

Changing AccelMethod in xorg.conf from EXA to XAA seems to fix the
issue; however, performance drops dramatically. Simple tasks like
opening the main menu or maximizing a window can take a second or two.
It is a fix, but the performance loss makes it an unacceptable one - X
just uses way too much CPU with XAA to do mundane tasks.

[Bug 366835] Re: in 9.04 for AMD64, nedit will not copy to clipboard

2009-05-24 Thread Matthew S. Moore
I also confirm this bug with my upgrade to Jaunty and nedit 1:5.5-3.
After reinstalling nedit and lesstiff2 from Paul's PPA
(https://launchpad.net/~paul-climbing/+archive/ppa) I'm back in
business. Thanks Paul!
