[Bug 369138] [NEW] Xorg freezes on Voodoo3 at 1440x900
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-tdfx With jaunty, xserver-xorg-video-tdfx (1:1.4.0-2) freezes Xorg from xserver-xorg-core (2:1.6.0-0ubuntu14) on first full screen window draw at resolution 1440x900 on a Voodoo3 3000 card (16Mb) unless NoAccel (xorg.conf) has been set for its device driver. Without NoAccel and although DRI, DRI2 and direct rendering become automatically disabled (according to log), Xorg seems to freeze by using its DGA extension (unconfirmed). With intrepid, xserver-xorg-video-tdfx (1:1.4.0-1build2), which did not receive much modification for jaunty, ran on xserver-xorg-core (2:1.5.2-2ubuntu3) effortlessly as soon as DRI and direct rendering became automatically disabled. Attached is a log snippet of ltrace on blackbox (wm) crashing Xorg (its log remains silent) with first full screen window draws. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-tdfx (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Xorg freezes on Voodoo3 at 1440x900 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/369138 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 566103] [NEW] blank screen and complete lockup when X starts on Intel 855GM Chipset
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel Happens with lucid default kernel 2.6.32-21-generic, need to start failsafeX there. [Bug 566090] Re: broken sound: ratelimit.c is suppressing lots of sound events
Did so and symptom remains. But it does not suppress for anything anymore. For every session login or logout event sound, pulseaudio suppresses about 20 events. For every first start of a busy spd-say probably per session, pulseaudio gives me up to 560 suppressed events while sound cracks noticeably. For repeated operations seemingly no suppressions take place anymore. I don't know if that relates, but after beginning screen darkening while idle in some specific javaws application playing a voice stream, sound becomes and remains reproducibly cracky too until restart of that app. In this case nothing is in the logs. -- broken sound: ratelimit.c is suppressing lots of sound events https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/566090 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 684694] [NEW] [855GM] i915 kernel bug: casual (gpu) lockup on acpid client change
Public bug reported: XOrg intel driver has been manually re-enabled on this system. System runs stable aside from mentioned "kernel BUG". syslog always tells acpid client change has taken place around (gpu) lockup -- see attachment. Lockup has been a regression since maverick release and is not reproducible. Has happened so far only during graphical user login/logout/switch operations once every few days. [Bug 659846] [NEW] java (webstart) applet fails to emit sound
Public bug reported: KGS cgoban3 client remains silent on my box after release upgrade from 10.04 to .10. I was used to this error when other programs such as firefox showed via sound preferences -> applications they were using some (which? -- libasound?) sound resource. Shutting down those programs sound resource claims remedied the situation. Now, even on an empty applications list and on a xterm-only-session, Java refuses to emit sounds. This is true for both now Sun's and OpenJDK's flavor. Sounds in general and via aplay work as expected. [Bug 659864] [NEW] box periodically freezes up for a snippet of time
Public bug reported: USB mouse gestures, keypress events, graphical as well as audible output is seemingly periodically interrupted for a short fraction of a second. With default gnome keyboard speed and delay, interruption happens about every 290 letters. Interruptions occur also when booted with init=/bin/bash.
