[Bug 1818974] Re: Ubuntu 18.04 Kernel 4.18 - Standby wakeup user session crash
I don't know if it is the same bug. I wanted to use my computer again, I left on the thinkpad docking station, connected with the same external HDD. I got only a black screen on the main monitor and the other two monitors didn't got an image signal. PS: I am running now the intel gpu driver as default, it seems it uses the nvidia gpu automatically in games. This black screen behaviour looks new to me. ** Attachment added: "journalctl--since=today.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1818974/+attachment/5263255/+files/journalctl--since%3Dtoday.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1818974 Title: Ubuntu 18.04 Kernel 4.18 - Standby wakeup user session crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1818974/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Very weird. I detached the awake laptop from my docking station, then i worked with it without attached power supply. I watched something without using my laptop. My laptop turned into standby. [Bug 1850064] Re: Please upgrade it to 68.x on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
We always prefer a repository package over Snap. Snap takes more storage space and forces us to run an application with deprecated and security breaking libraries just because a developer doesn't want to test his application with the newest dependencies. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1850064 Title: Please upgrade it to 68.x on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/+bug/1850064/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1850064] Re: Please upgrade it to 68.x on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
Okay, I will stop and just answer your message. And it is just my opinion about the disadvantages of snaps. And I don't address developers who maintain everything. But I address the developers who think they can throw a snap into the snap store and doesn't put in updated dependencies. These developers exist. And deprecated? Since a LTS distribution must ship updated versions with bug and security fixes? I don't speak about the shiny new and maybe buggy major version updates, I speak about the bug and security fixing patches. You install a deb and used third party libraries standard shipped in the distribution get maintained by the distribution maintainer. And the developer is forced to update his application to remain compatibility. You install a snap and you can hope that the snap guy puts effort in updating third party in his snap. And again, I don't address every developer.

** Attachment added: "journalctl--since=yesterday.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1820243/+attachment/5246374/+files/journalctl--since%3Dyesterday.log ** Description changed: Ubuntu 18.04 (linux-image-4.18.0-16-generic) ThinkPad 460P Intel i7-6700HQ Nvidia GTX940MX (nvidia 415 drivers) When using with dock, attached monitor is not detected, laptop monitor remains blank. Laptop freezes until I detach it from the UltraDock again. Requires a reboot with the UltraDock attached to make it working. It worked in the past since 4.18 with the Laptop booted with the UltraDock and detach ad attach the laptop again. Maybe it happens because I use HWE now. + + But the errors in dmesg and logcat are looking like my bugreport for + kernel 4.15 where the UltraDock didn't worked. ** Description changed: Ubuntu 18.04 (linux-image-4.18.0-16-generic) ThinkPad 460P Intel i7-6700HQ Nvidia GTX940MX (nvidia 415 drivers) When using with dock, attached monitor is not detected, laptop monitor remains blank.
